Bunkhouse model recommendation, must have a slide, used

Well, it's come time to sell the wanderer and upgrade to something newer. I am looking for a mid 2000s bunk model with a slide and would have be to used. I would like to hear what you guys think. Also I was wondering if you guys have any advise on negotiating with the dealers, I know they probably have quite a bit of bending room but just looking for ideas. Also I am wanting to cash (that green stuff that's made out of funny paper) purchase but sometimes this hurts you because the banks don't give the dealer the financing kickback.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated

Don't like the CCC (323KG) on that one. If you fill the black and gray tanks, you are already overloaded. That is just plain poor planning.

Here's a link to a new blog I started. We were looking for exactly the same thing, and found it! The first post is about our experience. We bought from a dealership, but got an awesome deal on our 06 Keystone Hornet. I did scour Craigslist and RV Trader as well. There was a Puma BH I found on Craigslist that was 1K cheaper than our Keystone we were going to look at if the deal fell through. There are some great deals to be had out there right now. We are so thrilled with our purchase! I know I got a good deal b/c when I called to insure it, the insurance value was worth more than what we paid and if you didn't know it was 8 yrs old, you'd never know by looking at it. My blog goes into more details and has 2 pics. B/C of how we financed ours, tot he dealership it was a cash deal. I simply wrote them a check, so don't rule out looking at a dealership. Even if you do finance, I suggest using your local bank or credit union. Call them BEFORE you go look, if you finance to get their loan terms and rates. That way you choose if you use the dealership financing or your own bank. We used our credit union.

If I'm buying with cash, the dealer is the last place I'd look. Craigslist and ebay and rvtrader.com. You will have to be patient, also, if your very particular about what you want when buying used.

I agree with this, look for a floor plan that will work for you.

I could purchase either in the US or Canada, we live only a few minutes from Washington. I haven't looked in the states much due to our dollar being so low lately.

Sometimes they will give you a substantial discount for cash payments, so don't rule that out!

Are you planning to buy in the US or Canada?

I am going to assume you are in BC. We have a Cobalt trail (monaco) wild bear QBSS 27'/31'. We really enjoy the size and layout.

These TT were made for a Canadian firm by Monaco. I think they made them for 6 years? You would only be able to buy used now. We have had excellent service when I needed to contact Monaco for any information. We have seen them advertised across Canada for sale.

Speaking from experience, used at the dealer is for people who must finance with the trailer as collateral. Craigslist is a much better bet. Dealers will be overpriced and the units will be in generally worse condition. Also negotiating private sale is easier. People want the camper gone and are still doing much better than what the dealers offer on trade in.
