Thank you for the replies! I'd rather not white knuckle it since I plan to go cross country. I am now looking for something smaller/lighter to tow.

You need to check all of the limits being mentioned above, and your weakest link is your limiting factor.

To really know, you have t go to the scales. For a preliminary look, however, to really help provide useful responses we'd need:

-Payload (according to the yellow sticker on the door jam)
-Tow capacity of your Pathfinder configuration
-Hitch ratings listed in your manual and/or on the hitch itself
-Estimated total weight of occupants (you, family, animals, etc.) and gear that will travel in the Pathfinder.

Pathfinder looks to have a tow capacity of 6000 lbs. So you can probably tow it, but you will not be happy doing so. How many people do you plan to take with you?

That's a fairly small trailer and strongly believe it will have under a 600 lb tounge because of the GVWR of trailer.

Even the wife has yet to load any of our trailers to Gross so realistically looking at a 4500lb trailer loaded.

Would like to know the payload of the Nissan.

Maybe with a weight distributing hitch with built-in sway control, it would be "safe," but the problem I see is that you'll almost certainly be well over the 600 lb. hitch weight limit. Dry hitch weight is 470 lbs dry (options not included), add 90 lbs for the WD hitch, and you're already at 560 lbs. Don't you want to fill your LP tanks and have a battery on the tongue? Where is the fresh water tank, is it in front of the axle? About 15 years ago I towed a TT just about that same size and weight (dry hitch 380) with an SUV rated 6000/600, and I bent a rear spring on the SUV. 25 gallons of water under the front bed probably hastened that.
