Hey group. We are thinking of getting a new TT. I think we have narrowed it down to this FLOOR PLAN. Other than this manufacturer what other manufacturers make is same floor plan??? We would like to find it in fiberglass, but if he weight and quality are right we old consider it aluminum sided.

What other brands of this floor plan are out there?

I fully well realize that. I also realize that when I checked out the OPs selection, I noted what to me is a defect and wanted to warn him of it. He can ignore my advice if he so desires. I feel obligated to advise anybody of any additional issues I note with their selection.

eabc's post states~~~"OP - when we are seriously considering any floor plan, we spend over an hour inside. Is the TV angle comfortable from where you will sit to watch it?,,,,,"

That TV location is where it is a in a 30' Sunnybrock 5th we own,,,and it is A PAIN IN THE NECK. eabc offers you some excelant advice on this point. Rainy days after a long days travel,,,, well,go back and both of you sit there and vision this !!!!

Look at the Creekside 27BHS. Well built trailers. Outdoorsrv.com
Might be a little heavy for a half ton though.

Jayco White Hawk 28dsbh Seeing as how you're towing with a half ton, the lightest we found with the same floor plan. We had to give up the U-shaped dinette, but needed to be half ton towable. The '14 (what we just picked up) has 4" taller ceiling, crown moldings, LED awning strips, 32" TV, and some other up grades. Dry weight, with filled lp tanks, electric stabilizers, tongue, and awning is still under 6k.

OP - when we are seriously considering any floor plan, we spend over an hour inside. Is the TV angle comfortable from where you will sit to watch it? Is the couch deep enough for you, or will your legs go to sleep because the cushions cut off circulation to your legs? Can you get to the bathroom when someone's cooking? Is the bed comfortable? Sit on the commode - is the height comfortable? Check the "wipeability factor" - can you successfully complete bathroom operations? Sit at the dinette table. Can you fit comfortably? Can you still watch TV? Sit on the couch again. Do you need an ottoman? Will it fit? Where will you store it? Bunk beds - do they have a light for each bed? Can the kids get in bed without being contortionists? Think about what you're going to pack/keep in your trailer. Will it all fit? Where will you hang wet towels? Where will you put dirty laundry? How about muddy shoes? Does it have carpet or vinyl flooring? Where will you put the spices? Cooking utensils? BBQ tools? Bottled water? Is there storage under the beds? Under the dinette benches? Are the lights well-placed?

Maybe I should make a checklist...for us, it's all about layout. We can walk into an RV and know within a few minutes if the layout will work for us. Keep looking until you walk into the unit and say "This is the one!"

Happy camping,

I think the original query was about floorplans not rubber roofs.
That floorplan is a popular one and you should be able to find other manufacturer's with the same one. I did like the pictures of the one you posted in your link. Looks like very nice quality.

Bumpy,
Just to clarify rubber can be a broad term. Are you saying PVC,EPDM and all rubber like material should be avoided leaving only aluminum and fiberglass as acceptable?

No, I would accept a TPO roof.
there are lots of TTs available with fiberglass or TPO roofs. I just bought one myself with a fiberglass roof.

My rubber EPDM roof is now 8 years old and I have not had a single issue with it. Since this is the roof that is put on almost all towables there are very few other options.

I recommend that anybody thinking that rubber roofs are great do a search for all of the issues that are covered in this forum. yes there are a lot of them, that was pretty much the standard build 1993-2000 or so. now only used in the cheaper models/brands. If they are the best I assume that that is what is put on Prevosts. :s
and for me that is the first cut, I had two of them, never again. there are too many other options to add an additional problem area.

There is nothing wrong with a rubber roof at all. In fact, I prefer a rubber roof over any of the other types. There are probably more rubber roofs than any other type of material on RV's. I would not make the type of roof a concern in my selection of RV. There are many much more important items to be concerned about.
