Custom Built Travel Trailer

Are there any custom floor plan builders of travel trailers under 20 feet? I'm looking for a simple layout, nothing radical. A company that builds custom small high end travel trailers, the way Advanced RV builds custom Class B vans. I cannot find any retail travel trailer manufacturer that comes close to what I'm looking for.

Try Aluminum Trailer Company (ATC). They make a 20 ft. toy hauler that they can reconfigure with modular components. Basic floor plan has a pretty good dry bath with tanks and such. They claim to make custom trailers so might have the ability to delete many items. This company builds all aluminum high end stuff, even the frame is aluminum, no wood anywhere. I know they have lithium battery options. Maybe the company can deliver what you want but your wallet will feel some pain.

I just inquired about a custom floorplan and he responded with a timeline of January 2026.

Glad to see they're busy.
Guess a decision has to be made as to whether a wait like this is worth the quality. For me it just might be.

Overall a great choice. Even if you have to rent or borrow a camper until your Taylorcoach unit is completed, you wouldn't be sorry.

I know many of the coaches are built for US customers. It makes a nice trip to drive up to Ontario and pick up your coach, then camp your way home.

Ralph, Thank you so much. This is precisely what I have been looking for. I will get in touch with them tomorrow. My fear is, they like most of the others, will be out a year or more on delivery times.

They custom make coaches from 8 feet to 24 feet long. You can get whatever you want built in...no slides. I have a 19foot loaded coach, old school design, 2600 pounds empty, 4000pounds GVW.

Thanks. 6000 and 8000 BTU/hr is a bit lighter duty than I would like. Would prefer at least 10,000 for the Florida summers.

I wish I could find a 12 volt mini split and I would use it. I want 12 volts because I want to run it off batteries through the night and avoid the inverter efficiency losses. I plan on at least 630 amp-hour lithium battery capacity which will run a 12 volt ac unit about 6 to 8 hours. I had that setup in a Class B van and it worked great. No generator noise (and smell) during the night.

The cost to design and custom fit out will far outweigh any savings from "simplifying"

Custom it usually in the big high end part of the market...but they come with big price tags. Very few people want to dump 6 figures into a 20ft trailer.

I would say your best bet would be to find a good quality enclosed cargo trailer and a good craftsman who can fit it out...but that comes with it's own set of complications.

What is a power queen bed lift ?

Sounds like you want an Airstream Bambi that needs a whole new interior !
