Digital Thermostat

So looking at switching my old thermostat pictured below to a digital model. Only need heat. Its a two wire set up. I know the Hunter 42995B was a popular model, but I cant seem to find it locally or online in Canada.

I did find a used one on Ebay, but it be close to 40 to have it shipped.

So what are people using now? Still the same model or is there an updated one available? (and possibly available to Canadians)

I checked out the link you submitted. Do you need a "programmable" stat? In my opinion that one is overkill by a long ways. With heat & cool switch + fan on or auto. With mine, it was a simple two wire hook up using the existing wires, put batteries in it for the backlit feature, set the temp, push the on button & away she goes. Unless that one happens to be less money, then maybe.

no, don't need it, but it seems like one of the few that are available and will work for me. I'm looking online to see if I can get your model in Canada.

Replaced my Atwood mechanical thermostat with a Honeywell RTH221 programmable one (see t'stat pic). Cost about $20 at local building supply store and works great.

Sorry, saw the CA after I posted. I don't know how you all survive up there 😉

Atwood makes a digital version although it is probably more money. Might run on 12v RV power. Local RV dealer may have something.

Says battery powered but not programmable so you will need to punch it up in the morning yourself.

I installed one of these in a rental condo several years ago. No issues.

like many things on Amazon.com "this item does not ship to Canada."

thats part of the issue. Seems like everything is 120v that I can find. Nothing battery powered.
That does present a problem. I thought hardware stores carried battery ones.

Replaced my factory thermostat recently, hated the thing. Since I only needed "heat" also I went with Honeywell model # RTH5100B-1025. It was a very simple installation & works great. It has a large "backlit" display & very simple to use.
Bought mine on Amazon. The Hunter model you mentioned is also on Amazon, but I prefer the Honywell.
