Door Shades

We have a TT with an exterior door in the bedroom. It has the frosted glass window. Does anyone have a whiz bang idea for providing shade for us late risers? I've thought about tin foil but I'm hoping for a more decorative solution.

Thanks,
Richard

I bought the reflective car windshield covers at the $ store and use them inside all the big windows if we have to camp with no shade.

I cut some down to use in the door window to keep it dark.

I don't always use them in the windows, but in case the sun is just beating down or I need it dark I have them. You would be amazed how much cooler it makes the trailer.

Our second exterior door leads to the bathroom, so it's pretty bright when you're on the hopper! At night with the light on in the bathroom, from the outside you can see if someone is in there. You can't see details, but can see the outline of the person, so I may consider one of the ideas presented in this thread.

Our bedroom has black out curtains that make it very dark, so some days I'm not sure what time to get up!

No one mentioned using reflectix... I bought to help insulate windows from cold/heat. My DS who thought it was a bit overboard, now loves them as he can cover windows to keep the sun/campground lights out when he is sleeping. for doors, 4 little bits of velcro do the trick

If the sizes are similar, would it work to hang a bamboo placemat over it ?

I wanted to add - our friends in Vegas have "Black out" drapes it's a very thick cloth that blocks out sun and heat! When we got back home I had an idea to go find some JoAnn's had it in colors

Well we got some and I cut them to size and used Velcro on the 4 corners !! Works great and folds up for easy storage !!!

Thanks for the good responses folks. Certainly a good number of options.

I think I'll go for your suggestion Thomasmnile, at least for now, as I have some of that material. Just got done putting a layer of that down on top of my underbelly for added protection of the tanks. I can also use that for covering the roof vents in the winter if we are out.

Did the same thing but I used white foam core project board and round Velcro tabs.

On my old TT I put a small screw on each side of the window for a line to hold up a curtain that the wife made from a hand towel.

We velcroed a black sheet of construction paper, actually we doubled it, to the inside of the door.

Or you could order/buy THESE at CW for $10.29 each. Just bought two for our WhiteHawk and they work nicely.

We put dark window tint film on our front door to block the sun. Window tint might work on your door.

We recently had to replace the pull down shade on our M.H. door. We measured and went to Lowe's and bought a pull down blind - very inexpensive. They cut one to the required width. It looks a lot like the above shade from Carefree, but probably more reasonably priced.
