Duramax Van

I guess I never knew it but Chevy makes a Duramax 2500/3500 Express Van. Of course the list is $42.5k.

They also offer a CNG option too.

My work had one of them several years ago. I was actually surprised they only had one Duramax GM van. They have several of the Sprinter based vans, but those tend to need a new transmission at 128,000 miles.

Most of the fleet was Ford E-250 and F-350 pickups. A few GMC trucks.

The reason Ford stopped putting the diesels in the vans was lack of cooling ability, compared to the trucks.

Duramax van has been around for a decade or more.

However, not identical to the truck based duramax. First,it does NOT have an allison transmission, but a GM tranny used with gas engines. As a result, power is substantially lower than current duramax engines. 250 HP to work with the tranny.
