Extra jacks on travel trailer

Has anyone installed extra jacks in the center of your travel trailer to stop the bouncing when walking in trailer

Brand, shouldn't matter much. They don't need to lift much weight.

What does matter is, how the jacks are configured, length of extension, type of crank handle, and mounting design. Some jacks are weld on, only. Some are either weld, or, bolt on. Some have mounting plates in north/south position, and, some have plates in east/west position.

You need to find your spot on the trailer to determine what mounting method you will need to use and what jack design will work best.

Yes. X Chocks.

It's not necessarily the suspension bouncing. It's more than likely the very slight back and forth rolling motion of the wheels that cause the "bouncy" feeling. The X Chocks stop that movement and the TT feels solid as a rock by comparison. I don't set up camp without them because of this. Without them my wife wakes up if I get up at night no matter how softly I walk, but with them I can walk through the TT at night and she sleeps right through it.

My power drill never gets tired. Our new TT has front/rear electric stabilizers.

I have. Look close at my signature photo and you can see it near the wheels. I don't use them very much any more, but sometimes they come in real handy. The biggest problem I've found, 2 of 3 on one side will be snug, the 3rd is not so snug. Snug up the 3rd one and one of the other 2 become unsnug. So you tighten, tighten, tighten. Then you move to the other side and repeat again. When your're finally done, you still basically have only 4 jacks firm, the other 2 are not so firm, and I'M POOPED!

When we camp on week-ends only now, we don't even bother putting the jacks down at all. We Rock and Roll all night long. When it's windy, I put all 6 down.

yes I have. They work just fine and do take the bounce out especially true of long trailers.they work best when installed close to the axles.the idea of course is to stop the suspension from bouncing so close to the axles best. Be sure you attach them to the FRAME and not the suspension though or the bounce will not be effected.

I installed one in front and one behind the axles, somewhat centered under the trailer. Takes a really long handle, to reach in and crank them up or down.

Had the handle custom made.

Helps to use satbilizers under the steps, also.
