Feedback about new Outfitter construction

I've read lots of feedback (thanks wahzoo and steve) about outfitter's older popups but does anyone have a 2014 or newer with the one piece composite frameless body? I'm intrigued but also concerned. The jacks are mounted to fiberglass and resin if I understand correctly. Doesn't seem like that is the best way to hold up a 3000lb camper but what do I know... I'm in colorado about 30 min from both hallmark and outfitter so I'll be checking them both out but am hoping for customer feedback on the new design.

First, let me say I'm pro Outfitter.

If you search through the Outfitter videos there is one describing the all-composite body and it details the composite reinforcing blocks. I have no knowledge or experience about its ability to hold lag screw threads or withstand compression created by a machine bolt with nut and washer. I'm a detail guy so I would certainly want to understand the composite properties. Check with Bob Ward and ask for engineering specs.

What I do know is a "through bolt" captured by a nut and washer has better holding power than just a screw fastener. Anything using tapered spiral threads has a tendency to "back out" when frequently stressed.

To hold my jacks...I'd ask for machine bolts going through a one piece aluminum block.

Having had 3 Bigfoot's I believe there is just a chunk of plywood bonded in underneath the skin with lag screws. I don't know about the Outfitter system, but it is probably pretty similar. Not the best way, but it seems to work, how many fiberglass boats hold up big V-8 engines in a similar fashion.

One time I had a mule deer turn back into me and she took both jacks right off. There was almost no significant damage to the fiberglass body where the jacks bolt on, just slightly enlarged holes and a little splintered fiberglass. I got new jacks thru insurance and just drilled out the holes from I think 5/16" to 3/8" bolts, made sure I had clearance thru the fiberglass and bolted them back on. A rather simple repair, on aluminum frame rig I don't want to think what would have happened. My advice, make sure you have spring loaded tie downs on all corners, I don't like the idea of a fixed tiedown with that type of construction. Just my opinion
