Looked to see if this had been posted but found nothing. Also unsire where to post this.

When I heard yesterday that Chrysler was building a new factory in Detroit and previous news about slowing auto sales I was wondering how they made the decision. New plant will add 6500 workers.

Considering the magnitude of the investment, they must believe it has value. There's a LOT of vacant land in Detroit. I do not like driving through that area of town.
Unfortunately Detroit brough a lot of this on themselves do to mismanagement and corruption. Very seldom do you get a second chance and hope they handle it better. Glad to see Automotive companies investing in America.

There is nothing wrong with those vehicles, other than they are WAY OVERPRICED! Anything with the Jeep name plate gets priced $10 to $20K to high IMHO. My DD has a Compass and other than it can't pass a gas station without wanting a drink it has been a great vehicle. The only time it has been into the dealer has been for oil changes and she now goes to the Pennzoil place do to cost SMDH.

The โ€œnew assembly plantโ€ within Detroitโ€™s city limits will replace the two Mack Avenue engine plants. The city is working with Detroit on a memorandum of understanding (contract), since the project will need additional property beyond the Mack plants and their current landscaping. The creation of the new assembly plant depends on successful negotiations with state and local governments.

It's not a done deal yet but I can't see Detroit turning them down.
