Finally Weighed my Rig

I have a 2012 Ram Dually CCLB and an Open Range RT310BHS Travel Trailer and here are my results:
Steer 4840
Drive 7040
Trailer 9820
Total 21,700

It looks like I am under on all weights on my door jam
GAWR Front 5500
GAWR Rear 9350
GVWR 12300

A little heavier than I thought, but that was why I went with a dually. We had 6 people and 2 dogs in the cab and were loaded for a week in FL. Still had room for 420 lbs of cargo in truck. It sure does add up quick, esp with all the bodies.

With those axle ratings I'm surprised the GVWR is not higher. My motorhome (built on a commercial cutaway chassis) had a GAWR front of 4600, rear 9450 and the GVWR was 14050. Just part of the mysteries of weight ratings.

Trailer gross is 11,250 I believe. I'm looking to upgrade tires before any Spring trips. I also have a 98 gallon TransferFlow tank in the bed and a high top Leer camper shell. That's one reason we have stayed with TT instead of going to a 5th wheel as we like the covered space in the bed.

Lol, unofficially the clutch is one of the culprits but the main reason for the lower gcvw rating is power. They're not rated to tow as much with the de tuned engine in front of the hand shaker trans......because of the clutch.
Stock truck, the clutch SHOULD last you awhile. I got one buddy who's got probably 100k on the OE dmf clutch with virtually no towing, no mods, not much city driving.
I'm a little tougher on clutches I guess. Tuned truck, lots of traffic/grocery getter duty which was likely the biggest cause of wearing out the clutch quickly, plus some heavy hauling/ towing, got 40k out of the OE clutch, 80k out of a Southbend OFE clutch, now on its 3rd clutch!

That is a heavy bumper pull! Love the floor plan!

True story, 3 years ago the dealer tried to sell me a similar camper, dry weight was 8900, floor plan was the same except a second bunk and no centre island. I had a 1500 ram!!

With dually I would think towing it fairly stress free?

You're at about 22K combined, what your GCWR? I suspect with the dually you're still under that too...
