My family and I are very excited. We will be making our first trip in our new TT 2013 shasta revere 26tb. I did a shake down run in the driveway. I ran all the systems in the fear that soemthing was overlooked when the TT was built. During the shakedown I found a few small things like fittings that were loose for kitchen faucet causing a drip. I found the washer for the shower line hook up was not even installed causing yet another leak the washer was sitting right there on the tub I assumed it was an extra I was wrong. Getting used to a slide we did not have one before in the old TT. I have checked the tires and greased the axels for my own piece of mind. I also went over all the lugnuts on the wheels as well as the spare. It is a good thing I did or the spare may have ended up on teh highway somewhere or worse. We will be leaving Friday afternoon and I will probably go over everthing three more times knowing how I am. Very excited to get camping and start our season. Happy camping to all!!!! have a safe and wonderful holiday weekend!!

Glad to hear your first outing went well. Ours went good as well, and I only had one small water leak at the hot water heater. Just had to tighten up the fitting.

It rained most of the long weekend, but we stayed high+dry.

I thought about that and I know I was not perfectly level and I know water will follow least path of resistance. So I agree with you. I do think it should be easily fixed and I will probably just end up doing it myself. I had already thought about putting the triangular pieces on the tub and pointing them into the tub.

I called the dealer and I asked them if it should be caulked all the way around the tub surround. They said it could be that it overlaps and did not really need to be caulked but I am going to dry it real good then put in some caulk and put in the triangular pieces in also that should fix us up.

For you shower surround, if you were not quite level and leaning slightly towards the open end of the tub I can see this happening. They make accordian shower doors that have a frame that gets caulked / screwed to the walls that would stop this. Some people have also cut lexan traingular shaped pieces and caulked them in the front and rear open corners where the tub meets the surround.

Still remember our first trip in the new camper.

We have a good dealer and they went over everything with us but you will still shake a few bugs out on the first few trips. If you do a lot of camping then there will always be minor thing crop up. By being a little "do it yourself" capable makes for nothing interfering with a camping trip. Think about the campers as like taking you stick house and shaking it as if it was in an earth quake. Every fitting and appliance gets shaken quite a bit going down the highway it is amazing anything still works. :B

Well our maiden voyage is under our belt. We had a very good weekend. only a couple small issues with the new TT. Found a small water leak from toilet. It was loose tightend and it stopped. Found out or tub surround does not keep the water in the tub. When taking a shower the water runs to the front edge of the suround then right out the side and on the floor this one was not as easily fixed but we made it through the weekend and now I have to figuer that one out I will be contacting the dealer about that one.

We had a good weekend and look forward to our next trip. I have to say having the slide and all teh extra room was awesome!! we had soem rain the first day and we were able to comfortably play soem games and stuff inside it was a great upgrade and I am very happy with it..

Happy camping to all!!!

To all thank yo for the kind words. as for the post about being stressed yeah a little stress. I try not to get to wrappped up in th elittle things but when you buy something new and your going on the maiden voyage it is a bit stressful. I am ready to put the stress aside and go camping and enjoy the great outdoors for the weekend. Me and my son will be doing a huge amount of fishing and playing around as well as the wife and daughter. Thew wife and daughter tend to do other things while we go fishing and biking and such. I am pretty confident we will have a successful weekend and I will certainly let you all know how it goes. To the folks that posted it is the first time for them. I say good luck to you with your new TT and I wish you all the best with the maiden voyage!!!
PS. I do have a list we have it printed out and check things off as we go so we don'd forget anything.

I have to remember it is just a TT and remember to do the things I normally do to make our trip successful and enjoyable. All the stress goes away when you get to your site and sit down around the campfire and realize you are there and its time to just relax..

This will be our first weekend in our new TT as well. I should have done what you did and hooked up right in my driveway, but hopefully we'll be ok. We did have it hooked up at the dealership during the walk through and checked all the systems.

May have some minor things to go over, and I'm bringing my tool kit just in case lol.

Let us know how your weekend goes, and I'll do the same.

While reading your post, I sensed a bit of stress. You may need to take a few deep breaths...... and enjoy the trip.

Enjoy the new rig.

Build yourself a checklist to use as your getting used to the new rig. Seems like the excitement of a new campers sometimes causes people to get out of sequence and do things they have never done before in years of camping. Nice job on the driveway camping and checking everything out prior to leaving for the first trip. Should make it a great camping experience instead of a great fixing experience.

Enjoy!

Hopefully you did not pay the dealer for a PDI, since you did it for yourself in your driveway!

Smart move to test while on the driveway - it's unfortunate that these days some mfg do such a poor job of inspecting their own products - no pride in their work.

Happy camping.
