Flat Towing Pickups

I am looking for a mid-size 4x4 pickup to flat tow behind my RV. Any suggestions o what models of 2016 or 2017 truck I should be looking at on the lots? GM, Nissan, Toyota.

Some but not all that don't have manual xfer cases have a way of getting it into neutral. I was at a RV repair place and they were hooking up a Jeep(not sure of the model) but it was all automatic, so I ask him if there was a way to shift the xfer into neutral. He said you see this little hole ( which was in the center consol) you poke paper clip in that hole and wait a few seconds and listen and you can hear it shift into neutral

Our 2016 Chevy Colorado Z71 tows nice and is easy to get around in Parking lots.
Rides and drives smooth and quiet also.

No Tacoma is listed as towable in the Motorhome Magazine towing guide. I agree with your philosophy that the vehicle manufacturer is the best authority on whether a car can be towed 4 down. It's not worth the gamble with your warranty.

The new Jeep pickup will probably be flat towable.

Re flat towing I'd look into a Wrangler.

For mid size pickups independent of this I'd go Tacoma, Frontier, Colorado in that order.

If buying used avoid the Taco as their resale is so good it only makes sense to buy new.

before you commit, read the owner's manual under either towing behind a motorhome or recreational towing. that is the only valid source of information. do NOT get something that needs modification such as a drive shaft disconnect to tow.

GMC Canyon's and Chevy Colorado's are the lightest you will find in a truck for those 2 years.

Nissans and Tototas are not towable 4 down without a driveshaft disconnect.
