Fleetwood manual crank parts question

2007 Fleetwood Arcadia: Anyone out there with a Fleetwood or Coleman that can answer a question about a part associated with the manual crank system? I'll do my best to describe, I don't have a pic to post yet: I have an electric lift and there is a post that comes out of the gearbox where I can put the crank to allow manual operation. Like many other cranks there is basically 2 spots where 2 "nubs" (for lack of a better word) fit and allow the crank to turn the post. Those "nubs" are part of a cap of some sort that fits over the post and allows the crank to engage the post. So the cap sits between the post itself and the crank handle. I'd guess that the cap is there to allow a bit of give? That cap came off and is generally loose. I've been searching for it but can't seem to find it. Does anyone know what it's called or where I can get one?

Sorry for the long post, but it's tough to describe...

Thanks, Midland is a great resource.

Im not sure if they have the part you are looking for but most of the time, Midland RV is cheaper than ColemanPopUpParts. Most people do not know they are a good resource.

The hose clamp idea was the first thing to come to mind when I saw a better detailed picture. I'd say run with it until you can't and keep a couple of spare clamps with you in case you need them in the field.

I assume this isn't the primary method for you to raise and lower the roof. If so, I would definitely buy the replacement part.

That looks like it, thanks! I didnt think the pins were removable but I guess they are. I don't know why they wouldn't just put a longer pin in the shaft to engage the handle and call it good...

I thought about the hose clamp too and probably be the fix for now. $30 seems like a lot for what it is.

Thanks again!

I think I found it and it's not cheap.

It's obvious that it's not a snap on, but rather you slide the replacement on the shaft then drive the pin through to secure it. If you go that route pay special attention to the pin as it might be tapered and only come out one direction. It might be cheaper somewhere else, that's just the first link I found it on.

Can you maybe put an automotive hose clamp around the part to squeeze it down tight? It would be cheaper than $29 + shipping

Here's what it looks like without the cap:

Here's the cap: it looks like it is just supposed to snap over the othe posts. The nubs on the cap are just a little longer to engage the crank handle and the metal just fatigued and cracked.

It's hard to tell in the picture, but if you take the cap off what does the part left behind look like? My guess is you either have an allen head set bolt, of a shear pin that broke.

Does the nub left in the shaft go clear through the shaft? If it goes clear through you should be able to use a hammer and punch and gently tap the pin out of the shaft. Then go to Home Depot or Lowes and get a new pin to hold the cap on.

If it's a set bolt you might be able to back it out and either get a new longer one or even a regular bolt to hold the cap on.

Hopefully it's not a spot weld or you'll probably have to get someone to repair it for you.

Ok here are a couple pics. This is the gear box where the handle would connect:
