Okay my question is why should I go to light truck tires as opposed to trailer tires ? I do no off roading unless you consider a 1/8 mile of gravel off road. I don't get it, better ride, stability, price ? Please explain.

There are some who insist that LT's are the only way to go. There are others, myself included, who have had no problems at all with ST's. Newer designs of ST's allows for greater speeds, which was one argument for the LT's. Do some research and decide for yourself based on your situation. Lots of info here.

How many axles, what GVWR, what size do you have now?
What are your concerns to resolve?

LT tire should provide you with a higher level of construction quality. Most important in my opinion is to have plenty of reserve capacity no matter what type or brand of tire you choose.

Speed rating for one.

LT's seem to be much less prone to tread separation.

The down side is the sidewall strength is less.
