After reading all the posts in "Drop your camper at the campground". I suddenly realized that I have to use 3 1/2 solid cinder blocks and 1/2 inch plastic jacks pads to gain enough height to unload/load my 1998 Lance 990 legend for clearance. My 2006 Dodge sits higher now with extra leaf spring in each rear pack, airbags, 3rd generation higher Dodge bed rails, and taller Nitto Durra high load index tires. What could I use at campgrounds or anywhere for that matter that is lightweight? Do not want to haul 4 solid cinder blocks around for sure.
Not sure but I think Id lean toward making similar to the bolt on for Happijacks. mentioned here http://www.rv.net/forums/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/25554684.cfm'Seems' might be a bit less likely to wobble, trying to drill some holes in the foot doesn't sound like fun though. Hopefully those who actually use/used either will chime in.
I carry 4 pieces of 6 x 6 with me when I know i'll be taking TC off. I have Cedar 6 x 6 and they weigh about a quarter of what a PT 6 x 6 weighs. Billyray , my 98 Lance Squire had the access doors by the wheel wells and that's where I carried them. I'm sure your's in similar. K
