Gray to Black

Let me ask what may be a dumb question. I am going out for the first time this weekend with my TC and, since I don't have a gray tank, I'll be draining the sink into a 5 gallon bucket. When I am leaving, can I just dump the bucket into my toilet and drain the black tank the usual way? I can't see why this would be any different then the way some gray tanks empty into the black tank as a flushing method. Am I missing anything?

I'll have to load up the canoe and give that one a try. I love the Minnesota State Campgounds and Parks. We hit 5 of them this year.

I'm from the cities but last weekend my dog and I did some pheasant hunting down near Marshal and stayed on the Lake Shetek state park. Great campground.

Good job moomps! What part of MN are you in? I am just west of Hutchinson.

FYI - it worked great. The black tank seems good and clean now - if that's possible. I had my own private dump pipe at the camp ground I was staying at so I was able to take my time and do everything slowly for the first time.

the suggestion to flush your empty black tank with grey water was right on.

If you dump tanks, it all ends up in the same place. I don't see where it would make any difference.

Just make sure you have enough capacity in your black tank for the gray water before you start dumping it in the toilet. Won't be much fun trying to sop up the overflow.

Putting 10-ply tires on half ton trucks since aught-four.

You could drain the black tank, close the valve, then dump the sink water down the toilet and drain the black tank again. This will flush it out somewhat.
Some toss the sink water in the bushes. Check with your campground for rules.
