Grease or no grease?

I just bought a new to me 2004 Terry with a 14 ft. slide.

The slide has a rack and pinion. It is exposed on the underside. It has been coated with a liberal coat of grease. AND the grease is full of sand.
The Reese equalizing hitch is also loaded with sand and grease.

The question is should such exposed parts be greased or left ungreased?

Not only power wash it but degrease it too.

Then when clean and dry

Spray all moving parts, all contact points with a dry graphite lube.

Goes on wet then dries. Will not attract dirt/grim.

I have used it on the racks on my slideouts, on the front landing gear legs, rear stabilizer pivot points and all door locks for past 10 yrs on my 5th wheel

Pressure wash it. I use dry Teflon spray on rack gears and all rubber seals and moving parts. Slides always move smoothly.

No grease on my Reese dual cam HD WD anti-sway hitch. Little Vaseline on cam OK if noisy. Drop or two only of oil where bars mount to receiver.

Jayco slide specifically says no lube necessary.

Clean all the contaminated grease out of there.
