Grooves cut in dual cam setup

Hi, I installed the new dual cam and a round bar setup today, took it for a spin and there were fresh grooves cut into the cam on the dual cam, I figure this is okay because the two pieces are mating to each other and they are metal on metal (Should it be greased?) but just wanted to reassure myself it was normal.
Thanks

Marking them and eventually flipping them assures that your getting the full use out of them. Not marking them, you really never know if you're switching them equally from side to side.

I'm a dumb guy and don't even have any cams outside my engine.

That being said, IF one were to keep bars L and R till worn then switch and wear out other side... would not the same amount of wear occur if one randomly put the bars R or L...
Not a physicist nor metallurgist, but IF they are going to wear to a point then one flips them, wearing both sides would give the same term of service yes??

I agree with the advise above. Keep your WD bars left or right. They will wear in to their specific cam.

Thanks!

Yes normal. do not grease them, but if you are over 1200lbs tongue weight it is OK to use a dab of grease to eleviate the excessive wear! nothing to worry about. after awhile the wear will subside and will be nothing. after a few years you can flip the arms over and use the bottom side which will be a new surface.

I have a piece of tape wrapped around one bar designated as the right side. The bar & cam on each side are now worn in together.

x2.

Reese says that you can use a very light coat of vaseline if needed to minimize noise. usually not needed on the lighter bars, but I do use it on my 1700lb bars since tongue weight is so high (1400lbs loaded with water)
