HappiJac Tiedowns on newer Rams?

Anyone have the rear HappiJac bumper tie-downs on a newer Ram?
My 14' Ram has really thin bumpers and the bumper brackets look like they are just thin stamped sheet metal. I don't know if they are usable with the HappiJacs system.

For the rear Torqlifts, the Ram has a frame mounted tubular hitch, how would the Torqlift work in the rear?

Thanks

Wow, that's some setup, thank you for posting the pics. I don't think I'd go for the rear hitch setup, just the front/rear frame mounts. Nice truck!

My 2014 was the first truck Torklift did. I have a superhitch Magnum with the mounts that come off the hitch. There is a new frame mount for the front due to the fact that Ram filled one of the holes in the frame that Torklift used on the 13. I can send you pictures if you would like. The system is fantastic.

Hi Nautique200, can you post a pic or two of the TLs installed on your Ram?

I have run mixed sets in the past with good results. The previous truck we owned was a 2002 Dodge and had a hell for stout rear bumper. The HJ "buttons" worked fine but when I tried them on my current Chevy, it was obvious the Chevy bumper was too thin and flimsy. Think I know where the cat food cans, I recycle, end up. LOL

So I added a set of frame mounted tie downs to the front and rear.

Insight regarding the torque lift 3109 kit for 2014 dodge RAM 3500 DRW long bed. I understand a camper extension kit (7004) is required for the rear tie downs to clear the rear fenders when mounting an Arctic Fox TC (or any camper which does not adhere to the 90 inch rule --------- distance between the front camper wall and rear tie down). Not very attractive.

I am trying to decide between happijac, which require 10 holes to be drilled into the truck bed and rear bumper, or torque lift which requires the 7004 kit.

Also, my Arctic Fox 1150 has 2 front rubber bumpers. From prior experience (2001 Lance 1130), bumpers are can be damaged with the front horizontal bed mounted stabilizer bar via the happijac system. Lance has addressed this issue on newer campers with teflon guides in lieu of rubber bumpers. I would like to use the Lance teflon solution, but am unsure if the TC front wall can take the extra stress. Rubber absorbs shock, teflon does not.

Thanks for the info. I've used an HJ system for many years, I e-mailed HJ to see if they are including any type of bumper bracing for the newest Rams as they've done in the past for Fords. The TL frame mounts would do the job, I see now that there are rear TLs that don't use a hitch. I have some time to decide.

There are two types of torklift rears for newer dodges . One that bolts to the superhitch , The superhitch is a second hitch that goes under the factory one .
The other type is a frame mount , dosent mount to hitch
I suggest you make sure you dont want a superhitch before buying the frame mt model , or you will be buying a second set to work with it
I made that mistake
Dont buy happijac`s , you will bend the bumper

Hello,

I have Torklift Tie Downs front & rear on my 2012 Ram 3500 diesel crew Longbed Laramie,
and Fastgun Turnbuckles, best gear, solid, no bend or flex, to hold down my Eagle Cap 1160
on a rubber bed mat, no plastic liners that slide & move.

I would not use Happijac bumper mounted Tie Downs, bumpers these days are too weak, bolts are too flimsy.

Any questions, please ask. Doug

This topic was talked about on the Cummins Forum tonight i was reading about. The same subject came up as you have stated. The op just received his new 2014 Ram 3500 DRW CTD and hauls a TC. I am interested in this topic, and seeing any information, that might be given. I am looking at getting a Dodge 3500 DRW and looking at a AF 990 or Wolf Creek 850, myself. Just haven't figured out which Camper yet? Best of luck,
