HDT need to change f5th wheel?

Looking at an older freightliner with a 48' flatbed that I can put to good use hauling jeeps to the trails. It would be nice to be able to use this truck for pulling the camper as well. Can I use this truck without changing the hitch or do I have to swap out to a lighter hitch made for the camper? Swaping the hitch would render the flatbed useless and make the truck not as good of a deal.

Only real issue is the lack of side to side articulation on the commercial hitch which can twist the frame on the fiver on uneven ground. For any long term use you will want an air hitch as the suspension on the HDT is not real active with the fiver pin weight and it can beat it up pretty good.

Lots of info on towing with HDT on the HDT forum.

That was exactly what I needed. Thank you much. I already planned for the wiring issues. Now if I can manage to hammer out the deal.
