What brand TT would you get? I am liking the rockwood ultra lite 2604ws & 263rl and the open range lt274rls or lt28rks but open range is over my $ limit.
Any other brand suggestions compatable in layout and quality and price close to rockwood?

It would be another Jayco Jay Flight for sure. Love the floorplan, quality, and features. If there was anything to complain about it's the ****py innerspring mattress. Either give me a quality innerspring or put in the standard foam mattress. The foam mattress is the rear is much more comfortable.

Purchases for us are based on our needs and expectation of the product. Budget is based on how long our plans of its use are expected. Some of us drive BMW's and some Chevy Cobalts. Its totally up to what you like. We have owned our Arctic Fox Silver Fox 26x for almost six yrs now. Faults have been simple and minimal. And they were the Stove and Bed Shocks. It did cost more than others in its size range and heavy as hell, most definitely a 3/4 ton truck is needed. but, today it can still be held to anything that's rolling off an RV assembly line.

Egg camper (Oliver, Escape or Casita) or a small Airstream. Kind of assuming "If I could ..." includes being able to afford what I actually want. But also leaning toward having a van converted to camper.

For conventionally built box RVs, I've not observed that brand matters that much. When I was shopping 11-12 years ago I thought I was seeing differences among manufacturers (each offering several, maybe more than a dozen, brands) but ten years experience in two RV clubs has been enough to learn that they call all have their problems.

Agree on QC dropping. But it's hard to find a more solid built unit. From the in house frames to the solid cabinets. We tend to make the rounds during RV show season and it's really amazing to walk thru some units and feel around. Northwood has all the backing and support in their walls and floors so you get a real solid feel. Sure they make a few mistakes on units now and it sounds like it started in 2013. But I would take some cosmetic issue and a solid built unit any day. I think it boils down to all the little things that NW does that helps set it apart.

With all that being said I really like what Outdoor RV is doing with their exterior design, floor plan choices and interior colors. Large TV's and big holding tanks make them a nice alternative to the AF line.

I understand that all brands have their problems. At least the frames are stronger on the Northwoods products. I have done considerable work repairing, replacing and upgrading components on my KZ. It is like building a mansion on a mud foundation.

This too describes my RV to a tee. I have a Komfort Trailblazer 26ft. and love it. Its not a newer one but a 2010. I have nothing to complain about it. My heart went pitter patter when I first saw it. Ever since then it was a match for us. If I were you, I would check out used ones as well. Mine was 2 years old before I bought it. It was the best deal yet. Look around and get exactly what you want. Its out there, you just have to find it.

Sure there are others, but you just described our Jayco WhiteHawk 27DSRL. 😄 But alas, it's not without its shortcomings, such as the front bedroom gets woefully inadequate airflow from the AC duct. For that matter, if we're not in a shaded campsite in summer, the whole box gets pretty warm. Undersized AC? Maybe, but I'm inclined to think it's a terribly inadequate roof insulation problem. But, we do like the floorplan.

12 years of full time use and tens of thousands of miles and only had to replace the furnace blower motor and a awning fabric so far… the OE Duro tires were complete junk (three sidewalls) and replaced by the dealer…

So I guess I would have a hard time justifying anything other than a Keystone Hornet like the one I have… I got a lot of bang for my buck when I bought it and everything works flawlessly… I have been so satisfied that I stopper going to the RV shows or showrooms…

Maybe someday I will have to start looking for an all-weather unit… but I am not looking forward to that yet…

I owwoudl probably buy anoher northwood product although I have had my minor issues with this one and some examples of sloppiness. However from other units i have been in, the quality is still better. It held up well during 2 return trips to Mexico last season, with all those Topes. I can't say the same for a guy with a forest river product who had frame issues. Mind you a local welder did a heck of a job fixing him up.

Wow.. you just described my Tracer 2640RLS almost to a T.

I never thought about the dump valves being under the slide. Who the heck does that? Mine come out just in front of the slide. I don't have the dinet as I have the table and four chair option. Kitchencounter L shape with a sofa and two easy chairs.
