Anyone have any update on Skipnchar ?

Wow, I had not heard about Skip's bike accident. Danged forrest rats. I hate 'em.

Skip, if you are reading this, best wishes for a complete recovery and a quick return to riding and camping. I feel your pain, re hitting a deer with a bike. For me it was June of 1977 on a ride back from Yellowstone.

Over 400,000 accident free ( knock on wood ) street motorcycling miles since then for me.
Heal well, and glad to see you are back posting.

Several days after I returned I was riding near a favorite scenic drive near home and met up with a heard of deer on the road. I hit one broadside at about 60 MPH and that's about all I can (want to) remember. My bike trapped my right leg under it and burned me saverely alone with LOTS of road rash (which they also treat as a burn). I spent three weeks in the KUMC burn unit heavily sedated and was finally released last week. Underwent about a half dozen skin grafts and have an ankle that is only about half there at this time.

It's been a painful and enlightening time for me but it does look like I will likely survive and recover mostly. I was very lucky that I had no head injury even though I wasn't wearing a helmet.

Just thought I'd drop a few lines to bring all my friends up to date with my latest folly.
