injector warranty - 2005 Expedition, any experience?

My Expedition falls under the factory warranty extension for the injectors, 11 years or 120,000 miles and just recently started exhibiting symptoms. Has anyone with an expy or F-150 of that vintage had the warranty work done? Did they give you any grief?

My warranty is up in July and I have 112,000 miles so still under by quite a bit. This has been the best rig I ever owned. The only thing replaced in nearly 11 years is a set of tires and an alternator and 2 batteries. Hope my luck continues.

Yeah, I was going to do the fuel filter anyway and it is due for plugs as well. Would not surprise me if a coil or two was weak as well. I may just replace all the coils and plugs myself. If you seafoam the **** out of it and use an impact driver to bust them loose you rarely break one of the crappy two piece plugs it came with. If I do break one I will get one of the extractor kits. The dealer used to charge $800 just to change plugs but that may have gone down now.

(I think you have 5.4 triton motor) You shouldn't get any grief. But I bet you will. I bet you get hit up for a fuel filter and getting hooked up to their computer. Maybe even a coil over plug. Those are good strong motors, lots of miles left in its life with little over 100,000 miles.

Should not have to pay for diagnostics but needed and/or recommended services will be charged. At 100,000 miles, replacing the fuel filters is wise.

Should not be an issue at all. The service writer will confirm, through the VIN, that the vehicle is covered by that warranty. The service technician will confirm that your drivability issue is caused by the warrantied item. the correction is covered by the warranty.

You just have to hope the technician is skilled in diagnosing the problem. That is where choosing the best dealer's service department is critical.
