Interesting way to air condition an Airstream

Driving home from work today, I found myself behind an airstream trailer with a residential style mini split air conditioner hanging off the back. It kind of struck me as odd.

All that Airstream needs is a wood stove and it will be a true four seasons camper. :B

Most of the mini-splits I found while shopping, were 240V. Although, they do make 120V units.

FWIW, this year, I'll be installing a window unit. With my super-insulated trailer, I'll be trying to install a 120V window unit with the lowest possible electrical draw. Phase II of my solar system will be sized to run the AC for a few hours.

I bet it cools awesome compared to most RV air conditioners.
Nothing odd about that.

with the advertising on the back window, i would guess it is used as a business or information center. where the door may be opened often. thus requiring a larger ac unit...
