Is this a good deal?

Ok, Ive got an offer to buy a 2017 Gulf Stream Vintage Cruiser 23RSS used for $13,115 minus $2100 for my 2000 Terry 26H trade bringing it to $11,015. Then he says he's add's in $995 for dealer prep which I don't wanna pay. Another $500 for admin fees. $250 for tags even though I've got my own tags. This would be only my second RV I've ever bought so I'm not sure about the extra fees, if I'm getting ripped off or what. Plus tax and fees would pretty much eat up my trade. I don't figure to get much for the trade but I don't wanna get ripped either. Wadda ya think? Also its from Camping World. Thanks

I think you have already gotten the picture from a whole bunch of experienced and CORRECT members already.

Let me guess, they are also trying to sell you a, "Paint and Upholstery Protection Package."

Lynnmor, you feel those fees are too much also?

Almost all of that is pure garbage.

Your best bet is to sell your trailer private, trade in is just another donation to a dealer. If you can get any reasonable amount, then buy a trailer without a trade, you will likely be able to negotiate a better price.

It would be a snowy day in July before I paid a dealer prep fee for a used trailer!

While "documentation" fees have become commonplace, there are hard for any consumer to accept. In this case, those fees are outrageous and tantamount to thief.

I would not pay them, nor would I ever consider buying a RV from Camping World.

KEEP LOOKING AND FIND ANOTHER DEALER. DON'T LET THEM RIP YOU OFF!

I agree with the rest. It's Camping World, run away and don't look back.

First I wanna thank you for your responses. Maddog, I'm just plain confused. I dunno what you mean. Lynnmor, you feel those fees are too much also? I wasnt sure about the admin fee because I dont really know what they are charging for. The tag fee I think is high because I think I can transfer it for less than that. This is in Florida. I thought the price was a really good price but the fees are making me not wanna do the deal. Not that I cant afford it, I just get mad when taken advantage of.

No, you're not getting ripped off because you are now going to find an honest dealer and not doing that deal. If I were the one faced with those fees, I would still not do business with them even if they removed the fees, because after the sale they could not be used for service.
