Hi all,
Pretty new at RV camping. I moved out to Utah and thought, dammit I better buy a camper. So I bought a camper....even before having anything to pull it with haha.
1994 Dutchmen 24 ft. It being 20 years old, and my wife thinking shes a princess, I had to upgrade the interior. Plus that toilet just looked like it had too many ass miles. Its been a pretty fun "turn key" project, no serious issues and everything works. ac, fridge, plumbing, etc.
Sorry I dont better Before pictures, I lost my other phone that had great before pic, so before pics are limited.
EDIT: sorry for inconsistent picture sizes, thats irritating.
here it is.
Took all the furniture out and started the paint.
start ripping out loose wallpaper in the bedroom to find out that whole wall is nearly water damaged! So paint day turned into replacing a wall. (I covered the window for picture/lighting reasons)
back to painting!
done.
Floor time. That was a lot easier to pull out than I imagined. And it was nice to confirm no water damage to floor.
Time for new floors.
This was the LEAST funnest, easiest part by far. 1) Every other panel laid down is a custom cut nearly. 2) I never done floors before.
Notice the pink "subflooring". I work at a Yoga company that does distribution and manufacturing. I used some left over scrap yoga mats. That was a win!=)
High ass mile toilet gonzo! Upgraded with a dometic toilet!
Next was improving sink and bath. Dont laugh at my ghettofied taping off. I think we all know, after a while, that white plastic turns into a gross yellow. Home Depot sells a kit to fix this. Really its 40.00 of rubber gloves, sos pad and plastic paint :S just get the plastic paint..
upgrade!
Sorry I dont have better after pics on the shower. But here it all is.
Time to replace everything! Oh yeah, and I got new upholstery!
Sweet matching Texas star I found for 5 bucks at thrift store.
Heres my limited before pic. Something about 20 year old dusty and dead skin fabric, im not too cool with.
Thats it!
๐The next weekend we take her out to Crystal Hot Springs in Utah.
I may or may not have been a little imitated back this thing up to a spot in front of a crowded camp ground
๐ haha but everything went well. Thanks to a lot youtubing, I had zero issues hooking up also.
Being a 100% city boy, and not really a handy man at all. It was really fun working on this (except the floors :M) It took me about 6 weekends to finish the whole thing
๐ Thanks for check my thread out!
