Hello, The DW and I purchased a 1987 Lance 9000 a couple of weeks ago and we are preparing for a winter project. Since our Springdale TT has been designated as our "second home" on some property we purchased in east Texas last year we have been missing our monthly trips to the lake. We had talked about getting a TC for various trips we would like to take that isn't practical for the TT. I would like to introduces what the DW and I affectionately call the Backpack
Today was the first time I have had to start really checking it out. Going in we knew that there is a lot of work to be done, leaks, electrical, basically something with every aspect of the camper. We are hoping to have it ready to go by May of next year for a trip to Bike Week in Myrtle Beach. So after getting it unloaded and set on my make shift pedestal
I decided I better get started if Iโm going to meet our goal. I started with the fridge. We were told it didn't work so I'm hoping to get it up and running. After removing the make shift cooler top, fridge vent cover
I fired it up on electric. But unfortunately after running almost 12 hours it still isn't cooling, just gurgling. Guess gonna take a little more than plugging it up and turning it on.
I consider myself pretty handy and I know the forum is going to be a huge help. Actually ran across an entry door rebuild today which I plan on doing to mine. I plan to post some of my adventures and pics as I go but if anyone out there has attempted a similar rebuild on a similar model, advice and pictures would be greatly appreciated.

After seeing the carnage I have decided that the current project will be scrapped and I'll start over from scratch when I have more time and a better place to do the work. For now many of the components from the Backpac will be used in our 14' enclosed trailer for a temporary fill in to get us back out camping. I appreciate all the feedback and support and I'll post the restart of the project here when I get it restarted.

It has been quite a while since I posted, I finally got moved to Texas but unfortunately the TC is still in Ga. before I let I was able to get the back wall rebuilt

I got both of the rear panels cut and installed
then I painted the underside to seal it up the bottom
Before I headed to Texas I decided, due to a previous storm, to take the tarps off the pole barn and wrap the TC. A storm had blew through a couple of weeks before my departure the had picked the back of the pole barn up and moved it several feet so I decided not to leave it up. I had not expected all the rain the south east had gotten since I left. I flew back to Ga last week to drive my car back to Texas and I was heart broken to find that my tarping had not held up against all the rain. Everything was wet and the mold has taken over the entire interior of the TC. I redid all the tarps, added some extra sheet plastic and put my dehumidifier in it and I will know the true extent of the damage when I go back in a couple of weeks. The best I can hope for is the work I have already done is salvageable the worst is I have to start from scratch. The only good thing is that all of the electric and interior components are in my shop and out of the rain. I didn't get any pictures of the damage when I was there but I hope to have good news with my next trip out to Ga.

A little more progress today, I got the left and right panels assembled. The left side
