lance sheet metal

Anyone know of a midwestern source for the sheet metal lance used on the mid 2000 campers. I have an 04 815. I have struggled with window leaking for a few years. Sometime last fall I must have picked up a stone chip. The glass was broken when I removed the cover this spring. Its cracked in a few directions. Maybe its time to do the right thing and make it go away. I could have a sheet metal cover made, but to do it right it should be replaced. Any ideas or metal source. I don't think lance supports this style anymore.

look at other brand campers in A junk yard like Colaw rv salvage in Carthage Mo. and see if they use the same metal. http://colawrvsalvage.com/

Not sure exactly what you need but RVs are repairable with like materials without going back to the manufacture. Many RVs have to be repaired and the manufactures are no longer in business. Several years ago I built a TC. An RV dealer brought out a catalog of skin material available. I had no idea so much was available.

I am looking for the formed alm skin used on the exterior of the camper. I recall talking to Lance a few years ago and they wanted 300 something a sheet and the freight to Mi was another 200 per sheet. I needed 2 sooo I could not see dropping 1000 at the time. Lance said then they only had 2 or 3 and would not be getting anymore.

Look up U.S. Steel in your area. May be some other steel company in your area. They sell just about any types of metal you would want to buy. steel, aluminum etc. comes in sheets of thickness you want. You normally place order and they will cut to size. You do need to do some research on grade and gauge you want etc. The pocket ref books from most hardware stores will point you in the right direction for gauge etc. Keep in mind metal has gone up in price a lot. I just paid $4 a foot for some 2" by 1/4" angle. Yup it was YIPES!!

BTW I just google and found Harbor Steel and Porter Steel in Muskegon and American Steel in Grand Rapids. Don't think you should have any trouble finding what you want.
