Laredo 28bh or Solaire Eclipse 267BHSK

We have narrowed it down to these two models, and the wife gave me the nod on either. We were almost set on the Laredo until we went to RV show and saw the Solaire (with eclipse package). Solaire is a little more, but seems to have some nice features, serta mattress, linex on front cap, power jacks all the way around, solid counter-tops, vacuum bonded walls, and couple other minor things. Both have the same layout with double bed over double bed and barreled ceiling with standard mattress 60x80'' mattress (all must haves for us).

I have read on here a few complaints about Solaire, but seems like almost every model has some complaints. I will be towing with a Ram 2500, so weight is non-issue with these models. Thanks for anyone's input that has experience with either of these models!

I just checked their website. The 267 is no longer available in the Eclipse. It was for 2013 and 2014.You might want to do a search to see who still might have a new one. We like the Eclipse mainly because the front cap and Serta Trump matress. You could probably have a dealer put in a Serta Trump if you can't find a new 267 Eclipse.

We have a 2013 Solaire 269 BHDSK and love it. It is the eclipse model and the front cap is one piece! We had minor adjustments the day of our PDI and intial pick up. We had an awning light replaced under warranty and last year we replaced our stabilizer jacks that were made by Lippert which are Chinese made junk. We replaced them with American made Bal Jacks. Suggest that you get the second year warranty from Forest River as I am sure you'll be replacing the Lippert jacks during your second season too or better yet have the dealer change them for Bal and make it part of your purchase. Bal has a motor for each jack where Lippert does both sides with one motor and the lifting rod strips it self out rendering the jacks useless.

Good luck with your choice!

Lou,

Thanks for the reply, especially the about the jacks. Do you feel the "eclipse" package is worth the extra money? As far as longevity of the trailer the eclipse seems built stronger on the front cap with the linex and overall design. I liked the 2 year warranty option as well. In there new brochure I picked up from the RV show I only see the 269BHDSK available for the eclipse version. We do not want the island and like the layout of the 267BHSK, but in the eclipse. I have seen them on youtube, but don't know if this was an older model and there are no longer available in eclipse for the 267BHSk

No Soliare owners on here?

Thanks for the info on the front cap! Not sure if the Solaire is one piece or not. I also thought the second year warranty was a great deal. So comparing the two for quality, you feel the Solaire wins?

Just a couple of suggestions. Buy a trailer with a solid one piece front cap. Less leaks. The front of the trailer takes all the abuse when traveling down the highway.
And since the Solaire is a Forest River product go for the 2nd year warranty (from Forest River NOT the dealer) for $150.
