Had a fun weekend , went on a cub scout camping trim this weekend.Rain started on our 2 mile hike on saturday . We were on the Eastern Shore of Maryland . Rained all day , it didnt stop the kids . Now I cheated , I took the trailer , but everyone else was tent camping . Well no one stayed Sat night , they were done . I stayed . Hooked up this morning and got near the Chesapeake Bay Bridge ............HIGH WIND WARNINGS , NO EMPTY TRACTOR TRAILERS AND NO RV'S .......... Great I am 10 miles from home , I could go around , a 3 hour detour . Nope , I called a friend I havent seen in 5 years who lives near the bridge and asked If I could drop it there . Now in a day or 2 I have to go back and get it .

But it was a great wet and muddy weekend

Sounds like a great time by all. Love the story about the mom falling in the mud and realizing the kid needs to have his fun.

I grew up in the boy scouts and tent camping and though we have only been "Glampers" in the travel trailer for a couple years I am afraid it has made me soft. As I have gotten older I have come to appreciate and love sleeping on a (Semi)comfortable bed with out rocks in my back and having a squishy chair or couch to sit on, along with an instant cooking fire from the propane grill/stove/oven or even the microwave when I'm hungry. My twin boys are only four years old and really hope that one day they want to be involved in scouts. Those will be the days and weekends the travel trailer gets left at home and the tents get dusted off. I would have a hard time setting the example by being the only one living a life of luxury inside a trailer while everyone else was out side "ruffing it".

Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to say anything negative about your post.

the kids were the fun part , they were all drowned rats , soaked , playing kickball in the rain ,and mud , climbing trees took them in groups of 7 fishing and didnt leave till each one caught a fish ( I think the same fish got caught 15 times) . Smores in the rain are messy , but at that point the kids were filthy anyway . One Mother kept telling her 6 year old to stay out of the mud , while running over to get him she fell in the mud , she just got up laughing , then told the boy to go play . Best Part was NO ELECTRONIC GAMES ALLOWED . And the kids survived
