Lott Rot?

I was at a dealer a couple weeks ago and he told me that new 2013 models (that are on a competitors lot have lot rot) What ???
If it is new them it is under warranty and any leaks would be most noticeable especially if the unit is almost a 2 years old model.
All other items would also be covered on the Jayco 2 year warranty.
Would you buy a 2013 model if the price was right? I'm thinking offering no more than 40% off msrp as the dealer is most likely getting a huge rebate from the mfg>
Input most appreciated..

LOL! That's what I was thinking, too.

That's only $9K off of their list price. We ordered a Grey Wolf from a dealer during an RV show and we got nearly $12K off of "MSRP". I'd probably start with an offer of $18,000 to them and see where they go.

Times 2 on what AirForceAngler said, i just bought a new left over 13 model and got it for 50% off of there list price. $17K too $18K max.

Sounds like an opportunity for a really good bargain. I would add to have the bearings repacked. It doesn't have any miles on it, but grease will separate after sitting for long periods. IMO, start at an almost insulting offer and see where it leads.

lot rot is a term thrown around a lot by folks who have a very high mileage RV who want to disparage one for sale with half the mileage.

X2. Don't pay more $20K plus tax.
That depends on how bad the OP wants that particular, NEW, DISCONTINUED model. Most stealers are willing to deal and lose "some" money, but none that I know are willing to give their product away. The best deal you can expect is "average used retail" from NADA on that particular year make and model.

26K is 25% off MSRP. 30% off would be 24,500. 40% would be a darn good deal IMO. I would still have to be positive that even at that low price it's what I'd want. What would I be giving up or putting up with simply because it's a good deal.

$22K and see how bad they want to get it off their floor plan. Bet you get it for around $23K-$24K.

I guess my only comment will be that I would not buy from the guy that made that comment.
Amen, that dealer is not the best, IMO.....would this dealer also own the Chevrolet dealership there? If so, I can understand the salesman saying this. Their Las Vegas store has the same reputation......:B

There is something wrong with a dealer that has to verbally bash a competitor to their potential customer. It has to make you wonder why he feels the need to do that.
