Hello, I picked a 1977 Fleetwood Wilderness a few months back. I've been learning quite a bit about RV's since I have bought it. Already installed 2 new roof vents to replace the original platic ones that were cracking and leaking.
Need some advice on re-sealing the rear roof seam. I scraped the old caulk and used 6" gutter seam tape, but after our 1st trip to Fort Wilderness last month (it rained all day) we had a leak running down the side wall. right under the rear roof seam. I noticed when I got home the tape didnt hold on the trip there. It started peeling up a bit. Im guessing because the metal at this seem is so flexible and not smooth.
At this point, I have peeled all the silver gutter seem tape off. I have a full tube of Dicor self leveling lap sealant. Would you all recommend that I level & seal the area with this? Its a metal roof BTW...
Just want to make sure I do the right thing so I dont have to do it a 3rd time!
