New Vision's and Michelin tires!

Well, my Vision wheels and MIchelin XDS2 tires finally arrived and have been balanced and installed, and they are awesome! 245/70R19.5 at 70psi rides way better than my OEM Michelin LTX AS2 265/70R17 at 80 psi. These are very sure footed, without any sag, sway, or bad bounce. I LIKE them! :B

Load range on singles (both rear tires):
Tires are rated to 120psi:

75psi = 6780
80psi = 7140
85psi = 7500
90psi = 7850
95psi = 8200
100psi = 8540
105psi = 8880
110psi = 9220
115psi = 9550
120psi = 9880

The 19.5" will fit under a Ford - They take up to a 33" tall tire in the stock location.

I have the Visions and PD890 245s. Did you order a 19.5 spare, and will one fit where the previous 17" was?
Thanks +(BTW, I added fender flares - real easy to do and dressed up the solid white truck.+)

You don't mind that they are so narrow they are called "Pizza Cutters" I always hated my 19.5" tires on my class A motorhome, terrible handling tires

Yes, My Toyo M608Z 14-ply tires sing a little also. Still love the tires, and the assurance they offer.

I've had the Mic XDS-2's 19.5's and visions for a couple of years now. Love them!

They so sing a bit on the road. Not distracting to me but DW, that's another story.

Wondering how the tires are holding up a year down the road? Are you still happy with them! Anything you would do differently? Has it affected your MPG alot on road trips? Best ride unloaded PSI and loaded? How are the tires wearing?

I have a 2010 Ram 2500 4x4 and have been wanting to move up to 19.5 wheels / tires. I'm interested in the Vision 81's because they're a good value and look nice. My concern is with the offset and backspacing. I'm trying to quantify how much more these will stick out from the factory wheels. Does anyone have a picture (including the original OP of this thread) looking from the back forward along the side of the truck showing me how much they might stick out? I'd be grateful.

First time post here. Not much of an RV'er but grew up trailer boating and on the water. Thanks guys!

They are made in China. These can be ordered through any Pepboys if you do not want to go mail order, but not all the stores have the equipment to mount these. Commercial use reports 40-60k miles of wear when these tires are used on construction sites with 4500 class vehicles.

The prices for tires were the best I could find locally or shipped to my door (included shipping). I did not save the sources of these prices after I made my purchase.

I will share the other 245/70R19.5 tires I was considering last year and their prices:

Continental HDR 16-ply H4940# $365
Michelin XDS2 16-ply H4940# $425
Hankook DH01 14-ply G4530# $315
Kumho KRD02 14-ply G4540# $345
Toyo M608Z 14-ply G4540# $390

Bedlam,

Nice truck and camper....Where are the DynaTracs made? That info should be on the sidewall of the tire... That is a question that has yet to be answered.

Thanks,

Very nice setup. bedlam, I'm not sure if those prices are pretty much the retail listings or what you found after inquiring locally with dealers. Granted it's been about what...4+ years since I bought my XDS2's, but I was the COSTCO door for less than $2K for my 6 tires....so more like $320-330 apiece. Glad the Dynas are working out.

I'm at about 60K on my XDS2's.....have been hoping to get through this summer on them and change out next fall again. That would put me at 70-75K or so. I've been very happy with the XDS2's but will go through the same process of looking at other options again whenever the time comes and I can't avoid it anymore. I don't think COSTCO does the 19.5's any more, so that might jack my price up over last time.

PEIwoman, if you are leaning towards the XDS2 you can check out an old thread of mine from when I first bought them here

Wheel Rack out of Victorville, CA should be able to help you with any combination of 225/75R19.5 or 245/75R19.5 If you want highway tread instead of the all season tread, they have those too. Chris at 877-955-9515 or wheelrack@verizon.net

They have an eBay site, but it does not list everything they carry: http://stores.ebay.com/Wheel-Rack

Thank you, Bedlam for all of this info. I will call them and get 'er done. I am leaning toward a 245 Michelin tire instead of Dyna.

Your posts have helped me alot. I sure wish I could install this setup on my own....

What can you, or anyone for that matter, tell me about that tire brand. I've never heard of them and see they are made in China. I'm not sure I would get a tire I don't know for sure will hold up to it's claimed performance.
