Well, after months of trying to decide what I want to do I made my mind up and went in to see the dealer today.

We went back and forth a bit and ended up making a deal on trading my 2013 F250 in on a 2017 F350 SRW Platinum.

Ford had 0% financing, 4000$ rebate and the dealer moved an extra 8300$ on top of what I though was a really good trade in on my 2013 XTL F250 of 32000$. They also threw in the REV rolling hard tonneau cover.

When for the following combo and options:
F350 SRW Platinum in White gold with the Brunello interior with the 6.7 and 3.55 gears. Added the Fifth wheel prep package and all weather mats, Rhino liner, otherwise its pretty loaded as it stands. didn't go for a sunroof as I use a bike rack on the roof to haul our bikes while towing the Fifth wheel in the summer.

now the long 6-8 week wait starts. I'm pretty stoked about the deal.

this is the color combo (mind you mine isn't a DRW but it should match my KZ Durango quite nicely:

Good choice. We have the Ford F250 6.7L Diesel Super Duty, Crew cab and we love it! Pulls our Alpine 5th wheel great as it pulls so smooth.

Enjoy your truck and rv'ing! Nice Pics.
We look forward to meeting other like-minded people. We would love to travel and work from our RV. Hoping to make this happen one day.

So I was able to go for a nice test tow this morning, about 40km's or so of mixed 80km/h rural two lane road and 100km/h 4 lane highway - its raining and quite windy out today so a good test.

Here's my first impressions:
1.Truck gets up to speed much more effortlessly than the last one, the 3.55 gears are to thank I'm sure
2.This truck does not have airbags, it sags less than 1 inch hooked up and the truck rides extremely well while towing, I'm very impressed.
3.the new integrated TBC seems to allow the 5er to have more brakes, I can actually adjust it to feel some tug when I get on the brakes - not the case with the last truck.
4.Mirrors are very good, the convex section below is huge and allows me to see the trucks rear wheels and also the RV's wheels and tires.

Thing's I did not get to try yet but will on the weekend on my way to Fundy national park:
1.climbing a grade
2.going down a grade and using the EB
3.fuel economy

Overall I though the last truck was great TV and this one is simply improved o all fronts.

once its loaded up in two weeks for our first camping trip i'll measure it up again to see, but I think I like the way it sits. Color matches better in person too, the sun brings out the metallic in the paint and shows up different on camera.

managed to hook up my fiver last night to the new truck and adjust the hitch. It sits about 2" nose high with just under 7" of bed rail clearance. I'm pretty happy with the way it sits overall but wouldn't mind a little more bed rail clearance - not sure if I'm going to do anything about it yet.

the truck only squatted down 1" with 2200lbs on the pin (measured on the cat scales with the last truck). No airbags required here!

while at the dealer this morning getting my tonneau cover installed I noticed this parked out back - the truck my father ordered had come in last night!

he's going to be a happy man when he picks it up tomorrow - he's been without a truck for two weeks when his Tundra sold last month.

You're going to love it. We have the same truck in Silver. 17' F350 Platinum with the Ultimate pkg. It's been the daily driver. Between the Camera system and the Bliss feature it makes driving around in city traffic a breeze.

Congrats on the new truck.... Looks like a jewel.

do yourself a favour and don't try one, I did last November when the dealer got their first F250 in and it ruined me. I only lasted 4 months of holding out....

I'm trying not too... The F150 I recently drove was so nice I couldn't believe a dang half ton gave me the bug, but I think my 6.7 Power Stroke solved that problem. :B

BTW... Sure a lot of new Super Duty's popping up here in this forum.

My sister and Bro-in-law just ordered their 2017 350 Crew cab long bed Lariat last week, so Ford will sell another, likely for a June delivery. Now I just gotta find a creative excuse to borrow it.
