Hello all, we are in the process of planning our summer vacation, I have been looking at cabins along the Big Thompson River and came across this RV Park/resort. Does anyone have any opinions of this place? Thanks in advance! :C
Are you looking for cabins, or RV spaces...or both? Your question poses both. And Paradise on the River has both. In Estes Park, or in the Big Thompson?
I've not stayed there (one of the few places in Estes I've NOT stayed). It's generally gotten good reviews, the times I've called them, they've not had anything available. They seem to cater to folks looking to spend the summer there. I've been past it, it's on the river, the spaces are close together and it looks like it could be a challenge to get a bigger rig in there.
Their cabins look nice, and for Estes, their prices aren't outrageous, comparatively speaking. Again, the times I've called them, they didn't have cabins available.
As for your interest in cabins in the Big Thompson, that's going to be hit or miss. Many of the cabin resorts had damage from the flood of 2013, particularly for the resorts below Drake. There's going to be limited availability down canyon, more up canyon. Once you get above Drake and closer to Estes Park, there wasn't as much damage. The area of Loveland Heights has quite a few cabin resorts, and had practically no flood damage, so you might want to consider something in that area.
