PCV flagpoles

I made a couple of these flag poles and get allot of questions and comments about them. I fly an American flag and WVU flag. I used 1" pvc pipe since I am using 3' X 5' flags.

These are simple to make if you can cut and glue pvc pipe.

Since flag day is coming in a week June 14, I thought it would be nice to put this information up again.

I will be flying my flags this way at Whispering Hills RV Park in Shreve Ohio.

Hope I did this right. I should start selling these.

I made a set of those and love them! I glued the joints except for the bottom one and used a quick release pin in that joint so I could take them apart like someone stated above.

I fly an Air Force flag and American flag.
If you want to get specific there are rules about flying the American flag with others, rules usually come with the flag when it is purchased. I'm active duty, so when I see one not on the correct side or lower/smaller than the other flags it gets to me, but at least they are flying it!

I could claim that I did post indirectly about PVC flagpoles. If you go to the very first link the OP provided you will see that it goes directly to a post of mine from 11/25/12 picturing a USA flag on a PVC pole. :B

Hmmmm, flags and flagpoles not related? :h

I could go on and show how your display is wrong by quoting the USA flag code but you aren't interested. So I won't post further to this thread.

I thought the intent of the forum was for discussion and commentary, apparently you disagree.

On the contrary, I couldn't agree more. The topic of this thread is PVC Flagpoles, which is what I commented on originally, but I went back reread the additional posts, and I didn't see a post from you on PVC flagpoles, just a post about you wished the USA flag was larger and higher than the others, followed by a post about how it appears that I consider the USA flag no different than any other flag. Yeah, that's not offensive, especially coming from a complete stranger who doesn't know me from Adam. But, you apologized, and I accept that. No harm, no foul.

The point I was making, was if you wanted to discuss how you wished that everyone who has a USA flag would have it be larger than their other flags, and it should fly higher than the other flags, then you should start your own thread on that topic. I think a reasonable person may take offense to what you were implying, whether intentionally or unintentionally implying it. This thread was about PVC flagpoles, and the two subjects are NOT related. That's all I am saying.

I made no presumptions or conclusions about you or your family. I really don't understand why you seem so offended, I apologize. I thought the intent of the forum was for discussion and commentary, apparently you disagree.

That's one of the great things about this country. YOU can fly YOUR flag(s) any way YOU want at YOUR campsite. We happen to have a plethora of flags, including American flags, that we change out depending on our mood, where we are, time of year, the holiday, etc. This was just one pic to show an example of our home-made flagpoles as it relates to the OP's original topic. Way to be critical sir. Nice job!

I wasn't criticizing, I said "I wish".

From the picture and your statement it appears that you consider the USA flag no different than any other in your collection of flags. Lots of good people have died so that flag can fly high over USA soil. It is NOT one of a plethora depending on mood. You are right, you can fly it any way you want. Those people died so you have that right also.

And "I wish" people could just add meaningful comments related to the topic at hand on these forums, instead of trying to impose their personal point of view on everyone else and making broad, inaccurate assumptions based on a photo.

You sir, know nothing about me or my family members that have lost their lives fighting for this great country of ours, yet from a photo, you seem to have concluded that I am somehow less patriotic than you, simply because my American flag was too small and not as prominent for YOUR liking. God forbid if someone posts a flagpole picture that doesn't include an American flag at all! I'm sure you'll be the first to post, "I sure wish you were flying a USA flag instead of that, It's 5 O'clock Somewhere flag."

Again, my pic was simply in response to the OP's topic about FLAGPOLES, not a political statement requiring your commentary, personal beliefs, or "wishes". I fail to see how your comments have added any value to the topic of this thread.

We made a large and small pvc flagpole and painted them. We didn't glue ours together, just use the elbow and T connectors. That way we can take the poles apart to store them when traveling. Cheap and easy to make!

I built one and fly it in the desert. I also carry around a few copy of the plans in case anyone asks about it. I can't though figure out though what the tail on the holder is for. The plans don't call for adding weight so I find it hard to believe it's a counter balance.

Whispering Hills is a nice place. Three generations of owners will be working on any given day. Well maintained. I have stayed there many times.

While in the area make a side trip to Kidron and visit Lehman's Hardware. Lots of other Amish attractions in the area along the route 39 corridor.

prujak, Have you stayed at Whispering hills before? We are looking at that area in a couple weeks and would appreciate any input.
