I am concerned that with the number of people in the campground there is bound to be some that will come to your RV to steal something. What are some tips, tricks and recommendations that people have used to protect themselves in campgrounds, truck stops and Wal-Mart parking lots. Please provide your crime horror stories so other RV'ers can be better prepared.

We always pay to stay in a campground and have never had a problem. Do you have a dog? They seem to be good protectors; at least loud ones!

Never had anything stolen, actually a couple of times we had left something behind in the campground and people contacted us and gave us our property back.

I like to believe that people are overall good.

We have been RV-ing and camping since 1986 and the only thing we ever had taken was some firewood by some late night fun loving college kids!

Never had a problem. Not even in a travel trailer.
