rear living trailer

We are looking to purchase a trailer with chairs in the rear. TV is f150 ECO Max Tow 2035 payload. Would like to visit National parks and State parks. It seems like all the TT that meet the Wife's criteria wind up to be 31 33' overall length. Is that size usable for what we would like to do? The last TT we had was 17' some forty years ago, That was fine for us with three kids. Now for two of us it seems to have doubled in length requirement.

We had an Outback 277RL which is similar to the 295RE minus the curb side slide. Tons of room and well built but towing it with a F150 was less than fun. Too long.
We decided to try a fith wheel and glad we did. (see signature)

We own one and love it, has the couch in the rear with all kinds of storage inside. Lots of light in when you need it.

we went throught the same questions when we got our Outback 295RE rear living trailer. Yes, with that length there WILL be parks or sites in a park you won't be able to get into, state and national. However, we found that we have always found nice places to stay near where we wanted to go, or nice spots to select from. NP and FS campgrounds with limited facilities have been the ones that we sometimes can't get into. As to state parks, it seems to depend on the state. In oregon, there are VERY few SP that we can't find sites in. CA lots we can't fit into. Seems like once your over about 25' overall, we see more limits on what sites in a campground we can fit into.

We just call in advance if we have questions to make sure we can get in.

And we have yet to find a full service site we can't get into, or a RV park, and we can get into probably 90% of the sites with water/electric hookups. It's the more the campgrounds w/o service that limit our choices.

Now, this will be our third year with this big trailer, traveled about 15K miles, been camping about 3 months/year, and we love the trailer and wouldn't go back to a smaller trailer. Just learned to do a little more up front planning on campgrounds.

The Outback 295RE is a beautiful trailer. Last year one of our camping neighbors invited us into theirs and we fell in love. When it's time to upgrade, this is the TT model we will be looking for.

Thanks All
Wife likes the Bullet 284rls or Funfinder 264. Will look at the others mentioned. She has ruled out the ones that have a tub instead of shower.
Thanks again we are down here in New Bern. Will be heading to Pa Next month for a visit and will pass a few RV dealers that carry those models. Can't see them here as there are no dealers within 100 mi.

Also research these two by Forrest River:

Flagstaff 26RLS.

Rockwood 2604.

Identical models / both at 26' / both have open rear windows and swivel chairs / lite weigh / full glass showers, etc.

Good luck on your search.

You might look at a lightweight and short Lance 2385

2012 Lance 2385

2013 Lance 2385

Not really the definition of a rear living trailer, but it has a lovely front kitchen and a nice big slide bedroom in the back.

It probably depends on the parks you intend to visit. Check them out on line to see what they have to offer. We have a KZ spree 323RLS--33 feet in length and have not had any problems with state parks in VA, SC, or GA. We have noticed that many of the parks that we have visited have been or are bening upgraded with larger sites for the larger RVs. Good luck.
