I’m looking at the RecPro 9.5K low profile A/C. I have never heard of them. Does anyone have any experience with them, or heard anything about them? Thank you.

Yes, free prime shipping just means the shipping is included as I have researched many things and they are priced almost exactly the same when you add in the shipping from a dealer as free prime shipping. Marketing Genius but very shady...

They deliver by personal curriers, even when item cost $7.
USPS would charge me more than $7 to send it back, but if I don't like the item, amazon will arrange back shipment.
You can imagine how freebies work in real life.
I bough on amazon "open box" awnings for very good price.
But 1 of them had hardware beaten up senseless, when the fabric was never removed from package.
Seems the awning was put by somebody who had no clue hot to hold the wrenches and even less how to follow manual on assemble of piece of machinery.
They just send it back for 100% refund.
Good for me as I've got it for less than 1/2 price, when scratches are on the part covered by fabrics.

None of the listings show amazon prime, all sold and shipped by RecPro

Same unit, Direct thru recpro, even with $75 res. shipping, is $25 less than amazon. All mute if it wont fit

For a large item like this, better to buy direct from the seller versus Amazon. At one point I tried selling my own products on Amazon and realized just how expensive it is to do it. Amazon takes close to a 20% cut from every third party seller. It's why American made products (like my own) can't afford to sell on Amazon while all of the cheap Chinese goods sell so we'll. They have the volume and it's cheaper for them to ship from China than it is to ship state to state in the US. Yup... It's all backwards.

All that said, when you see a big ticket item on Amazon, especially if it is American made, try calling the manufacturer and try to purchase direct. They often times are happy to help you since it's another 20% in their pocket instead of Bezos pocket.

Why unknown but the Rec Pro only brand I noted @ amazon nonreturnable?
If you had commercial shipping address (free ship) unit is less directly
from RecPro. I didn't look at thier return policy...

All the size issues with any low profile is why I ended up with a Brisk Air, at 29" long only one that would fit, but its 13" tall.

Umm- this AC, all listings I seen thru amazon, state item is a NON returnable item.

Thanks for the heads up AnEv942!

Oh, that is not a good thing eh?

The Dometic Polar cub and the 13,500btu's are all returnable...

Could be a deal breaker for me...

I'm sure there are maybe a dozen reasons not to do it but couldn't you turn the unit around on the roof so the back of the AC was pointed towards the front of the camper and clear the skylight that way? Wind and water intrusion could be some of the concerns I suppose but I don't think the issue is whether it would work but for how long?

One thing I did not point out is I have a Fantastic fan fwd of the vent which is only 7" gap between the two. I would have to place the AC into that hole and then remove the vent and cover the hole. Just sucks! You can see the dimensions needed to install the AC.

Well Jimbo, it’s not that a new BigFoot cost more moola today, it’s just that the value of moola keeps going down the tubes (lol!)…

Best of Luck with your latest project, I’m certain it’ll make Momma a most happy camper 🙂 - now, to be able to run it in eco mode, eh!!

How far back does the unit project from the 14” opening? Af put a skylight in directly behind the ac unit so it limits what I can do.

I have the same issue with my BF... I am shy by <>3"....the rear of the unit to the skylight.. Ugg...
I have contacted the mfg and have asked if I can raise the unit up by about 1.5" to clear the skylight... Maybe use something non wood, like Trex or or.

Guess I could cut the roof on the front side of the vent hole by 3" and then do some engineering work to cover the 3" x 14" hole.

We do not like the skylight. We bought the BF brand new right off the lot, it had the skylight. We did not want to wait 3 mos for a special order, so we bought for a great price of 18,000 for the 9.6 2500 BF.... That was back in 2000.
