Replaceing Centurion CS4500 Converter

We have a 2000 Aero Cub. We had a breaker go bad and melt the holder for it. We are wanting to replace the entire converter. Can anyone give me any direction on which WFCO converter I should replace it with. Also, how to go about replacing it on my own possibly?

Thanks in advance

The entire electrical panel, not just the converter to clarify.

The converter came in yesterday. I put it in today. It took about 2 hours. One of the breakers will not fit. So I'm off the lowes to get that. I wonder if they tried to find the tightest spot that they could to put this converter in? It would have took no where near as long if I had a little more room.

In the WFCO manual there's a list of compatible breakers, they're available at any electrical supply house or big box store. You'll need a 30A main and 15A or 20A ones for the branch circuits.
DC fuses are "ATC" automotive type. 3A for the propane detector and 15A for most of the other DC circuits.

Ok. Thanks.

The breakers may fit, I really don't know what the olde Centurions used. If the fuses are the same type they'll fit too.

I installed another breaker for the wall outlets and connected half to one breaker and half to the other. Used a GCFI outlet on each (there was already one in the circuit). Not totally necessary but with my wife and daughter in the camper trying to use two hair dryers or a dryer while the space heater was running it helps to have two circuits. 30 amps, though, is still the limit of the whole system.

Replacing the entire power center will take a while (the "converter" is just a box inside the power center).

Be sure to order all the breakers you need. The fuses are automobile types and you'll need an assortment ranging from 7 to 30 amps (in my Roo, anyway).

Needless to say both the shorepower and battery need to be disconnected for safety before starting the project.

I split my internal wall outlets to two breakers rather than all on one. A hair dryer and space heater can now run at the same time if on different circuits. System is still limited to 30 amps total, though.

I ordered the entire power center. Can I not use the breakers and fuses already in the current power box? That was my plan. So you just added an additional breaker to split the outlets?

Randy suggested the WFCO 8965. He said that it is a direct fit. I called and asked them about installation. They said that it is pretty simple to swap over. I removed the old one just to look and it don't look like it can be to complicated.

Doesn't have to be WFCO, any brand for the matter.
