Replacing Furniture

We are wanting to replace our hide-a-bed with a reclining loveseat for more comfort. After a week long beach trip in Florida (first long haul by the way), we are wanting something more comfortable while we are inside relaxing.

Does anyone know of a place to buy a reclining loveseat to fit into our slide that doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

Thanks in advance!

We replaced our jack knife sofa with a la z boy reclining loveseat. The slide groans more from the weight but the comfort is well worth it. We found ours on Craigslist for around $200. Took about 2 months of looking before we found the right one.

Nice mod. I'm looking to do the same. Where did you buy the sofa at?

I sold the uncomfortable OEM air mattress couch on Craigslist($200)and replaced it with a recliner loveseat ($489).

Now the DW and I can actually sit together and recline. We didnt use the pull out air bed so we wont miss it. Since the loveseat is about 8 inches narrower, I will build and install ledges on each side to put drinks, etc. This was a much needed mod.

Take a look at the line of furniture made by shop4seats.com which is specifically made for RVs and the back can be taken off to get through an entry door. Their wall hugger recliners have the shortest front to back dimension I've seen.

I would really love to get their deleon double recliner. Available in 68" or 71" width and is only 33" front to back when upright. Gotta have the power recline, heated seating and massage options tho!

Ashnic, that is exactly what i'm looking for and looks very similar to the space in our trailer.

I can't say that I have an "exact budget" in mind, but not really looking to spend 2-3k on an RV couch. For my home, yes, but for weekend warriors like ourselves I would rather not.

With that said, I plan on visiting furniture stores and RV dealers to get a better idea.

Thank you all for your input!

I am in the same boat. I have a 68" pleather sofa/ air bed that is simply not comfortable. I found a 63" dual recliner love seat at Value City Furniture for $499. Granted it is not high quality but it will fit and it is comfortable. I have placed the RV sofa for sale on Craigslist, hoping to get some bites before I buy it.
Personally I won't replace my junk RV sofa with other RV spec furniture. RV furniture is way overpriced in my opinion and lower quality than household furniture.

Well, I just sold my RV sofa for $200 on Craigslist (1 day) . No I can go get the dual recliner.

If you want to test your setup on the cheap, remove the bed and use a pair of Zero-G chairs in that spot for a trip or two.

The next step up in RV-specific furniture would be chairs typically found in 5th wheels. You could maybe visit an RV dealer to sit in a few?

How much to you is an arm and a leg? Motion furniture of decent quality is not cheap. I recently came across the invoice for a pair of Flexsteel recliners I bought eight years ago, they were $800 each.

Must have been a sticker shock at the time, because I remembered paying about $75 for a recliner I bought in 1970, but then that one was out for the trash pickup before 1974, as the wooden chair frame broke apart,

Most of the good stuff, the backs come off for transport and delivery, the issue being getting the pieces through doors. But then, what the manufacturers have in mind are 28-30 inch doorways with no immediate tight turns,

I replaced the couch in our TT with a dual leather recliner. Tried it for one season, did not like falling into each other while sitting in the recliner. Replaced the duel recliner with two regular recliners. Much better now. Took 5 guys to get the duel recliner inside. I took it out by my self and put the two recliners in by my self as the backs came off. So far so good. I am nearly 80 so I am proud that I could move them in and out

Replacements can be tricky to find and sometimes really pricey. First problem is that it has to fit through the door. You're likely going to need something that the back lifts off. My cousin and DH were going to replace with 2 recliners and all they could find that would work were LazyBoy and way too steep a price tag. Good luck.
