Hi, A have a Trail - Lite TT and my right turn signal has stopped working. The "normal" tail light works fine but no turn signal. There is pulsing 12V in feed wire. Both V and A reading are the same as on the functioning left light. Continuity is OK both in bulb and fixture but I have also tried new bulb and a new tail light. No Luck. What am I missing? Any constructive thoughts appreciated.
Thanks all for your input. Fault found and fixed. At the vehicle side of the trailer connector a couple of wires had burned through the insulation. Spliced in new harness and connector and all is working fine. GM original connector w/o wiring harness over $100!!! After market connector with harness $25.
So you have voltage at the truck's right signal harness pin but the bulb on the taillight will not power on, correct? The first place I would check is the trailer's corresponding harness pin. I would assume that you've checked the wire at the tail light for power when the signal is activated and found nothing. If so, and the harness check's out ok, you'll have to follow the trailer's wiring bundle from the harness to the fixture and find the break. You could also run a new signal wire.
Step on brake or turn 4 way flashers on. If that filament works, there's nothing wrong with the light fixture. I would next look at the trailer 7 way plug or the large junction box where the pigtail goes into the trailer.
