Rockwood Mini lite - tiolet pressure

The toilet pressure is way too high. When ever you flush it gets water everywhere, even with the lid closed. Is there a way to adjust the pressure or does something need replaced/adjusted?

Rockwood Mini Lite 21'

Toilet is made by Thetford, Model #31687, AM5 HI FOOT, 100726-31687-0155.

Thanks Guys

Worked Great - had a great time and girl friend did not have to walk to bathroom in the middle of the night. (and me with her)

We have a Rockwood MiniLite as well and it does splash a little bit but its not bad with the lid closed, and that was with a pressure regulator at the spigot.

I fixed the problem by adding a shut off value to the line. So I pulled the toilet (2 nuts), removed the hose on the back of it. Then I removed the Water Module/Water Valve (1 screw and pry up on one side). Added a 1/2" PVC Ball valve (threaded inside both ends) to the Water Module/Water Valve with a 1/2 pvc nipple to the other end. Put it back together and used the shut off knob to regulate the water until I got the right pressure that did the job. Flushes with enough power to do the job but not enough that it splashes water over the rim.

Total cost about $4.25.

1 - 1/2" pvc ball valve
1 - 1/2" pvc nipple
some Teflon tape (be sure to wrap the threads about 3 times each)

Total time about 45 minutes

My girl friend is happy, she has a toilet instead of a bidet.

hi..

What is the stress at your wiring, or does it do the same factor when you use your pump?

Ha-ha! Reminds me, if I may hj a bit, of the toilet I was using in a NM rest stop on I-25 a few years ago. While still enthroned, I flushed that booger. I was hit with a forceful frigid gusher on my, how to say it, bow area that shot across the lower deck ricocheting back against my stern. Fortunately for said head, I had left my CC in the truck.

A valve in line to reduce the flow should work .

Forest River must have gotten a deal on the toilets. 🙂 (They are Dometic, so at least it's reputable.) Anyway, ours isn't quite that bad, but it definitely has a lot more oomph than the toilet in our old trailer. (Also a Dometic, as I recall.) And answering one question, yes, it behaves the same on the pump as it does on city water connection.

It is supposed to flow around the inside of the rim. But it hits it with such force that it flows over the rim, splashing water everywhere.

You could put a valve on the supply line to the toilet and then partially open it as desired.

In my case I have this Dometic toilet (don't recall the model number) which has the outlet on the back of the rim of the toilet (dumba*s design) and which cause the water to shoot around the rim and sometimes up and over. I pushed down on the head of the outlet a little and the water jumping out seems to have stopped. Your description of the water going everywhere does not really full describe what is going on - more information on how would likely provide more precise answers. 🙂

Do you have a regulator on the city water hookup? This was an issue for me until I started using one. You can also partly shut the supply valve at the spicket, but the regulator should be part of your standard gear. Never use my pump so can't answer for that.
