Shocks and Struts?

As part of my preparations for my trip to western states I am going to replace the shocks and struts on my '08 Silverado 1500, crew cab, LTZ, Z-71, 4wd. I have spoken to many "experts" and each seems to have a different opinion. I do plan to replace the front struts with quick struts (strut assembly with springs). A mechanic that I frequent recommended Monroe coil overs for the rear and HD quick struts for the front. I did break a strut mounting bolt when installing a new CV shaft. I also plan to install Supersprings or similar (Hellwigs, Roadmaster Active Suspension).

I am looking for advice and experiences on brands of shocks/struts and helper springs as mentioned above. I would like to stick with Bilsteins but they do not make a quick strut assembly.

I know some of the Duramax forums I'm on they like the Bilstein 5100 also.
I didn't think GM trucks have struts.

Many GM owners really like the Bilstein 5100s.

I've been very happy with my KYB Monomax shocks. I don't know if they make struts.

I thought the 4WD GM trucks used torsion bars, not coils.
