doing it the Steinbeck Way, travels with Jake

The wife has other plans for the weekend and the two small dogs will stay with her.

I plan on rolling out after work Friday and heading up hwy 4 towards Lake Alpine. Of course that todays destination du jour who knows what will strike my fancy tomorrow.

That's the best thing about going solo I don't have to have a plan, the boss: she has to have a plan and sticks close to it, me I like deciding on the fly.

Taking the Mt Bike and the Fly rod and waders, food for me and Jake and beer. It also means I will get home at O dark 30 Monday morning vs 5pm Sunday when out with the wife.

standby for a picture barrage on Monday night.

I rode that route on my motorcycle a little while ago. There are a couple campgrounds as I recall, one near the summit that had a creek run though it that carried fish, and another that was closed still, but with a motorcycle, that's not a problem. Have fun and stay safe!
