I recently purchased a travel trailer with one slide. Should I spend the $600.00 to have a slide awning installed?

I had slide out awnings installed to keep debris off my slides. Before I had them installed I used to climb up on the roof and inspect the slides for any debris before I retracted them. An added benefit is the hep keep the slide a little cooler when the sun beats on the TT.

I was wondering the same thing. What happens after a year or two when (or if) they stretch? Do they hold water like a regular awning when (or if) that happens?
