Smallest TT with bath and room for 2 kids?

Pulling with a wrangler JKU (3500# max). I was looking to A-frame pop ups, but I really need a small bath to shower off the boys (aged 4 and 6). I'm looking for the smallest TT I can get that will do the trick. The T@B is a little too small with just a bed and bath. The R-pod is a little on the large size for a jeep to pull around. What else has a queen-ish sized bed, bath, and dinette or bunks for 2 kids? Heck I don't even need a kitchen, I can cook outside.

Nice trailers, but having owned a JKU, I wouldn't want to tow something that long with one.

The Lance 1575 length is 20'5" long, it's actually not that long!

I'm looking at the Klipper 16B. Has bunks for the kids. Not sure if I want to sleep on the dinette all the time, but if I think of it as a step up from my tent, it seems pretty do-able. We'll mostly being doing 1-2 night weekend getaways. I'm imagining leaving the dinette set as a bed and eating outside unless the weather really turns. I also have one of those quick-set up screen canopy things that will cover the camp picnic table- haven't used it yet because it won't fit in the jeep. I hope it'll fit in a pass through compartment. That will allow eating outside even in the rain.

That's what I'm thinking as well.

Will the Jeep tow it? Likely so, but with gear in the Jeep, plus a loaded down trailer with gear for 2 kids, the Jeep will not liekly be a pleasant tow rig on long trips.

One of the smaller trailers from Coachmen might be a better fit.

Bunks might be a good option, particularly if you plan to keep the trailer for 5 years or so. Eventually the boys will not likely want to sleep together on a dinette.

I love the Escape 17B, my favorite so far. But the year plus wait and the $25k to get one, plus driving up to the PNW to fetch it are all against me. Want to sell me yours?

We looked at Casitas while visiting TX, but the bunk option was too small.

The boys are just turning 4 and 6. They can fit in small bunks, or share a dinette for the next few years.

Check this thread.

My vote is the Coachmen Viking 17BH or Clipper 17BH.

i have the Clipper 17bh, and we really like the size. our TV is 5,000lb towing capacity though. I think you're pushing the limits a bit with a wrangler jku at 3,500. unfortunately that number is not the only one you need to look out for. What is the payload capacity of the JKU? It should be on a yellow sticker in the door jamb on the drivers side. This is the number I'm closest to going over, and i think a lot of people tend to forget that part. I think you're max payload will be about 1,000lbs, so 2 adults, 2 kids, any gear, plus the tongue weight on your hitch, sounds like it'd be tight.

i'd be happy to answer any questions on the Clipper 17bh, but i think it might be a little too much for that TV.

I usually have my wife, 2 kids, and my dog with me camping.

It can get pretty tight in the winter time when we are inside more often, but it works out pretty good for us

While it might be a bit tight for your requirements, I have an Escape 17B - the front table converts to a single bed & there is an option for an additional upper bunk in front (150 lb limit), & a 48" rear bed/dinette.

Wet bath with shower, and many options available. The biggest current problem is there is a 14 month waiting list to purchase since they are made in Canada & the exchange rate is very favorable for US buyers.

Loaded for a long trip it is at 3100/345 lbs - for 5 years & 77,000 miles I towed it with a RAV4.

How old are the kids?

If I had kids, age age of them would play a role in deciding which trailer to get.

My little 16B has bunks for two and a dinette that folds down to make another bed. Its just under 3000lbs loaded. Many different manufacturers make this or very similar floor plans.

Some of the A-Frame pop-ups have full bathrooms w/ a cassette toilet. Look at Aliners

With 2 kids, you want a shower. Just think how much hassle you (or your wife) won't have, taking them to the shower house.

You can get a rear-view camera and wire it off your running lights so it's always on--all you have to do is run with your lights on.

2015, 3.6 pentastar, 4.10, stiffer springs and shocks and already installed 7 pin and brake controller

I'm stuck between something like a hard pop up rockwood a122 or rpod 178. The shower would be awesome, but so would using my rear view mirror and less drag of the 122.

I looked at a Jayco with an identical layout to the Lance. I love the space and the layout EXCEPT for one big problem: There is NO bathroom access with the slide IN.

So any time you want to use your own bathroom instead of a truck stop or rest area..... you gotta run the slide out. And what if there is a problem and the slide is stuck IN????

What engine? 3.8L or 3.6L?

2007-2011 were 3.8L, aka the "mini-van engine"
2012+ are the 3.6L "Pentastar", with 282 HP

Do you know what gear ratio you have?
3.73 would be the minimum gearing I'd want to tow with. My preference would be 4:10s
