For alot of reasons, my husband and I bought our retirement property about 15 minutes north of the lake. I retired about six months ago and as soon as I can talk him into it we will be able to relocate there full time. For now, I spend most of the week down there and he comes down for the weekends. It's about a three hour drive from where we are now living.

Congrats on making it to retirement, it still a dream for many people. We are about four years away.

I don't have to tell you how beautiful this area is.

Hey, Thanks for the info. We are currently looking to buy property around this area.
It was a great experience. Virginia has a lot of state park camping areas that offer fun for all, I highly recommend this state to anyone who has not been there.
Camp sites were huge, Super quiet and peaceful just the way we like it.Awesome hiking trails made for a great experience.

Nice! It's good to see a lake with actual water in it. Not sure that there are any of those left here in California.

Would love to share with you!! We've been close to full pond all summer so far with near daily rainfall in the drainage basin.

You were nearly in my backyard! I have a summer place across the shore from the state park. Your wife/gf could be looking at my cove. Hope you enjoyed your trip. It can get crowded on the weekends, not so much at all during the week.

From what I can tell from the photos that seems to be a very nice lake you went to in Virginia. It looks so peaceful and relaxing on your trip. Thanks for posting.
