I'v been missing my favorite Chinese Restaurant and I'v missed a couple of my favorite servers. ??
Chinese food needs to be fresh from their kitchens and not reheated. I live 25 miles from South China so take home doesn't work for me. ๐Ÿ˜ž
Their servers will being it out to you so today I'm taking my dining room to South China so I can see one of my favorite servers and have one of my favorite lunches. :B

We do have reports on West Coast that farmers have to dispose tons of food that nobody buys anymore.
Cysternes of milk dumped in storm drain. Is that legal?

Franky, I do not believe people who handle the food and related items are immune from COVID-19, so keeping within the Shelter at Home guidelines, I do not get take-out food. Only exception might be a Take-and-Bake Pizza which you can sanitize the cardboard box, dispose of it, and the Pizza gets baked at a virus killing temperature anyway .....
Just my view on the issue.
According to the CDC, obesity is one of the biggest risk factors in having COVID progress to a serious outcome. People could just stop eating and kill two birds with one stone, won't get COVID from the carry out food container (which was likely handled less than most packages on the grocery store isles) and eventually obesity will no longer be an factor. Of course that will lead to other problems such as starvation. It is estimated that 9 million people die annually from malnutrition, which makes it currently about 70 times more deadly than COVID, which has killed about 130,000 worldwide. Sometimes you just have to choose your poison.

They are 2 criteria of high risk.
1 high risk of getting virus, like NY, Seattle or California
2. high risk of dying becouse of virus like people > 65 yo and with some health conditions.
Some people have both. I observe statistics every day. In last 30 days the number of sick people in Las Vegas went up 100 times and even the growth is not parabolic anymore, it doesn't look like it is slowing down.
Multiply what you have in your state times 100 and we will talk in a month.

But sanitizing the packaging and all that is paranoia. Where does it end? Is the CDC recommending sanitizing packages? Can I just throw the containers away and wash the dishes or do I need to burn everything in a pit.
I have to believe/trust the commercial kitchens are sanitary. Otherwise I will never eat out again virus or no virus.
By the way the OP's Chinese looks good. Hopefully your rig is not contaminated from the containers LOL.

Seriously as long as you are washing your hands regularly and thoroughly. You should be fine.
Don't lick the containers, don't lick your hands after handling the containers!

Thank you. Lunch was delicious.

Things are different where I live than around most of the country.

I will never quit shaking hands or hugging my close friends.

I enjoyed my adventure today and Carly was excited to see me and I was excited to see her. Today was a good day for both of us.

Some people are at high risk and some aren't.

Be careful out there and do what you feel that you need to do.

I do.

No, not really. I was fortunate to take delivery of kielbasa right before whole pandemic started, so still have freezer full, but even I like it all the time, DW complains about kielbasa 5 times a week.
So my favorite Mongolian Beef looks better and better.
Than the Chinese restaurant we used before used to deliver for $2 and I wonder if they keep the price.
EDIT. I just check, when delivery is still $2, they don't take internet orders. Have to call them and practice my Mandarin.

I can work out making food germ free, but having mixed info we are getting our brains scrambles.
I can call delivery and have the guy put packages inside my patio refrigerator, where only I will touch the door.
Than in a day or even 2 I can pull the food out, dump the packages and heat it in microwave. But as already pointed, what was good yesterday is no longer good today.

If you want to have take out, go for it. Just donโ€™t think itโ€™s possible to make it germ free. Whether you are worried about it is up to you. Fwiw, we have chosen to do without take out, but itโ€™s probably no more germs that you get if you go to the grocery store.

I have to say Chinese and Pizza sounds pretty good about now. ๐Ÿ˜„

When the food looks good in restaurant package that you place on your table, 1 of my neighbors reported on other site that he observed local grocery packer loading the food for local deliveries.
Not only he did not have mask, but he was blowing the bags open.
Go figure.

Spicy chicken lo mein, ham friend rice, chicken kabob, hot & sour soup and Sprite. It was delicious.

I text her my order and gave her a great big tip when she brought out my food.

And the best part was the hug I got when she brought my food out to me.

I think I miss her more than the food.
